The downloadable Andy Findon Kitbag 2 from Spitfire Audio is a collection of five virtual ethnic wind instruments featuring the bansuri in G, the Chinese membrane flute in F, the ocarina low, the panpipe low, and the quena. The Kitbag includes 7,895 sound samples performed by the orchestral and session flutist Andy Finton. Each sample is available in a choice of four microphone mixes to help you achieve just the sound you want.
The Andy Findon Kitbag's graphic user interface presents the Performance Patch alongside a number of instrument-specific Articulation Patches. In the Performance Patch you simply play your monophonic music on your keyboard to recreate it in the instrument of your choice without much manual customization. The Performance patch responds intelligently to your playing, giving you a variety of transitions between notes based on the velocity of your keystroke. The Articulation Patches, on the other hand, enable polyphonic playing and manual articulation control. Each instrument has its own set of characteristic round-robined articulations including basic long notes, bend-ups, bend-downs, short notes, and breathing noises for extra realism.
Dynamics-, flutter-, vibrato-, reverb-, and expression-control sliders open up a myriad of instrument-specific sound-customization possibilities from each of the patches. The samples were recorded in small, dry studios to leave ambient-effect possibilities as open as possible.
Note: Full version of Kontakt 5 Player required
The overview panel gives you a quick and easy way to access, view, and load the different articulations, mic mixes, and essential controller functions which you can then re-assign to suit your workflow.
General Controls Panel
This is a deeper but still simple UI panel that allows you to tweak the general settings. You can choose, for example, how many round robins you would like and how you would like them to behave, or how you would like memory to be organized alongside pitch options.
This device allows you to build up complex rhythmical patterns that react to your playing to achieve original effects.
