    Bose Solo 15 II reviews

Solo 15 Series II TV Sound System (Black) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow BOSE! Something Beautiful, I can hear again! I always enjoyed music and good movies. Aging happened and my hearing became diminished. I wondered why I could only hear mumbling actors, thinking it was the fault of the tv show's producer, certainly not me. I co-teach a pop culture course using film, video, and music. The viewing experience for me was frustrating. Then I discovered BOSE Solo 15 Series II, an amazing piece of engineering, and my life changed. I connected my BOSE speaker to cable, tv, and a blue ray player, turned the speaker on, and crystal clear sound! I couldn't believe how wonderful music and movies could be. I wondered why I waited so long to set it up? Get a BOSE tv speaker and hear mumbling actors again. It is worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definite Improvement in Clarity I use this sound system with a 47 TV in a small room. The improvement in the sound quality is quite noticeable from the time you turn it on. I was especially surprised with the improvement in Bass. Television shows that I had a hard time understanding ( or hearing ) because of poor sound quality became clear. It is, also, quite an improvement when watching music concerts. The music in the movie Muscle Shoals became a joy to listen to. The bass is not overwhelming but is definitely more defined.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressive sound quality Since I have an older 52 Samsung LCD, the base of the TV is too big to place atop the Solo 15 so I have it on the shelf directly below the top of my TV stand. It was definitely a great addition and provides a cinematic experience at home. Blu-rays sound fantastic as well as Netflix. The sound broadcasted over uVerse is not as impressive but still good enough.I'm not a basketball fan,but testing it out initially with an NBA game that was on, you felt like you were courtside. It enhances just about anything you're viewing, whether its an action movie or something less lively such as a documentary.Overall I'm satisfied with my purchase and am glad I spent the extra $ to $ over a more pedestrian sound bar (i.e. Vision, Yamaha, LG).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again. The advertised results on using the Dialogue setting is spot. Using this setting allows the volume to be lower. Love the way the TV sits on top of the Bose speaker case. The Bose universal remote does not offer all the functions required to operate the DirecTv Genie DVR, so using 2 remotes is required. The sound quality is far above that of my Samsung HDTV, but I don't think this is the system for a theater surround sound environment. In my opinion, it is provably the best available upgrade for basic TV audio. I also attached my old cd player to the Bose system and the sound was maybe a little improved over the cd systems speakers--but at least I can get the mousy cd systems speakers off the floor and discarded.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Between TV and True Surround. I needed simplicity. Helps me enjoy TV shows with better sound. Its not going to give you surround, just better sound. Its a real upgrade from tv with simplicity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent sound and easy set-up ... We purchased this for TV model based on our previous Bose purchases and our preference for the Bose systems sound. It is unique. The Bose sound system for watching television is an extravagance since TV is still, well just TV, however, Bose delivers a sharp, crystal clear voice, pleasant mid-tones and a bass with a fullness that one would never will know or appreciate from listening to the speakers manufacturers stick in out TVs. Bose improves it all. This unit was easy to set up and works with my Comcast cable box and our TV but my TV does not have an optical audio out. I suggest checking your TV for this important feature since optical is superior to HDMI for sound. I ended up connecting my Bose to the optical cable to my Comcast box as a work-a-round. I have the Bose supporting a 38 LCD TV and it does a great job in centering the sound and pushing it around the room for an even and enjoyable listening experience. Bose engineers did a good job in constructing a box that can hold the weight of a TV with a moderate footprint. The only reason I give this unit less than 5 stars is because Bose did not place an off switch on the front panel even so there is a green Power-On LED in the center of the front panel. Bose does not say that the unit turns itself Off after a period of time and the only way to get it to synch up with the TV and Cable is to go through the whole setup routine again. The work-around I use today is to turn on the Bose with the Bose remote and then turn on the TV and Cable using their physical Off-On switch. Then, they all play nice for a while until Bose turns itself Off and again upsets the whole set-up. It seems linking and keeping a link is still a weakness with sound bars since we also use a Yamaha for another TV and it has similar link issues. Overall, we are very happy with the sound quality, functionality and low profile look of Bose. It makes my large cheap TV sound like it has a custom audio sound system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing sound! Don't know why I waited so long! Finally, set up the speaker. Love the quality of sound; I can finally hear the lower level speaking. WOW! It's crystal clear. I knew BOSE had great sound but what a difference television, video watching, and music will be using this unit. I can't wait to try out ALL the amenities.
