Value Series 2MP PTZ Network Dome Camera is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Feature-packed for the price - but some setup issues This is a feature packed camera for the price, however, it does come with some issues that people buying it should know: 1) It has issues with email alerts to services that require TLS authentication (ie gmail); 2) The only browser where the plug-in still works is Windows IE (HikVision knew they were discontinuing support for this plug-in 18 months ago and still does not have a replacement); 3) Getting live view to work via the iVMS-2400 product from the WAN side is not easy; 4) Setting up an FTP server on Windows 10 and tweaking the Windows Firewall was tricky. Despite all this, when you get it up and running, and assuming HikVision fixes the broader Browser problem, I am still pleased with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent image quality and straightforward setup I have four Hikvision cameras, and I purchased this one last, so the setup has become almost second-nature. My other cameras don't have Pan-Tilt-Zoom control, so this one has a few extra knobs to turn in the setup, but it's very straightforward (as were the others, no issue if you're familiar with setting them up, some learning to do if you've never done it before). I have mine sitting inside on a shelf right-side-up instead of hanging upside down from a ceiling as intended. The mirroring options in the setup options make it easy to orient the image correctly. Regarding image quality, this camera is pretty typical of others in its price class; i.e., the images in daylight look pretty good, but there is a considerable amount of noise in the image when the light is low (see attached - taken with dusk lighting outside (looks very bright, but it's not), the inside of my house is fairly dark, and the night mode hadn't kicked on yet). The night vision image is quite good, with enough light from the built-in infrared emitters to light up family room and kitchen (see attached image). The built-in microphone works really well, picking up voices speaking in normal conversational levels from across the room (25-35 ft). I'm using Surveillance Station on a Synology NAS, and using the software's motion detection, etc., so I can't comment on how well this camera's built-in motion detection and other features work.
