TP-Link AC1900 overview

  • 1Description

Greatly expand the reach of your current Wi-Fi network with the RE580D AC1900 Wi-Fi Range Extender from TP-Link. This range extender comes compatible with virtually any Wi-Fi router or range extender, making setup and configuration simple. Once configured, you can begin taking advantage of concurrent dual-band functionality and high-speed mode which allocates the transmitted data to one channel and the received data to a different channel. This simultaneous transfer of data allows for enhanced data transfer rates of up to 1.9 Gbps which is perfect for online gaming, streaming HD content, transferring large files, and more. In addition to enhanced dual-band functionality, you can connect nearly any Wi-Fi enabled device to this range extender as it supports the IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac networking standards.

On the outside of the RE580D you will find three dual-band external antennas along with a total output power of 700 mW. The enhanced output power provides a stronger signal reaching distances up to 10,000 square feet. TP-Link has also included beamforming technology into this range extender for a more stable and reliable wireless connection. If a wired connection is what you want, the RE580D also comes equipped with five Gigabit Ethernet ports perfect for connecting computers, smart TVs, game consoles, and more directly to your network.

Expand Any Wi-Fi Network
With three external dual-band antennas and 700 mW high-powered amplifiers, the RE580D can establish a stable wireless connection to any Wi-Fi router and augment the network's coverage by up to 10,000 square feet. The dual-core 1 GHz processor provides maximum Wi-Fi performance, and keeps your smartphones and tablets connected as you move around your home.
Beamforming Technology for Accurately Focused Wi-Fi
Beamforming technology focuses the Wi-Fi transmission in the direction of your connected devices, concentrating the signal where you need it the most. Superior Wi-Fi bandwidth utilization increases range and provides targeted, efficient Wi-Fi connections.
Simultaneous Dual-Band Wi-Fi
The RE580D utilizes the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard to deliver dual band Wi-Fi connections with combined speeds of up to 1.9 Gbps (1.3 Gbps on the 5 GHz band and 600 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band). This enhanced speed means the RE580D offers reliable connections for bandwidth-intensive tasks, such as HD/4K video streaming, online gaming, and large file downloads.
High Speed Mode
The RE580D can use both the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands to create a single, fast connection by transmitting data on one channel and receiving data on the other. This is especially beneficial when performing bandwidth-intensive tasks, such as HD video streaming or online gaming.

    TP-Link AC1900 reviews

    RE580D AC1900 Wi-Fi Range Extender is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy beam forming technology, Batman! This baby can really beam you up, Scotty! Too much? Sorry. I love this thing though. Placed it on top of our fridge, focused it where we needed it and the coverage is awesome. It even penetrates our detached garage (with the aluminum doors closed) with 4 steady bars of coverage. The repeater actually identifies the device's location and targets the beam in its direction. I actually could see the bars ramp up as it found the garage. Thanks B&H

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding range! I just simply unboxed it and follow the instruction. I chose OPTION 2 to establish connection to the my main wireless router. I'm up and running in about 5 minutes at full speed. I just push two buttons. I just pushed the WPS button on my wireless router and then pushed the RE button on this Wi-Fi Range Extender. That's it. Easiest set-up known to man. No kidding. After I set it up I just relocated the Wi-Fi Range Extender in the middle of the house so the coverage is even on my entire place. The coverage and strength of the signal on 2.4GHz and 5GHz coming out of this Wi-Fi Range Extender is excellent. My entire place is now covered. No dead spots. I don't see any problem or things to complain about. It's just an outstanding Wi-Fi Range Extender. The best I've ever used and I've tried a lot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORKED GREAT AND THEN IT DIDN'T Loved it for about 3 days and then it turned into a signal jammer. I had to unplug it. It was paired with a TP-LINK Archer CR700 that I have had for months now. So the Extender is on it's way back to B&H. I'm just glad I bought it from them and that it jammed up during the first 30 days.
