Versatile small light source

You can use this as a beauty dish or very small softbox / with or without a grid. It is very well made and sets up easily. I got this because I was not impressed by the Profoto OCR line of small modifiers and did not want to operate in the field with a metal beauty dish. It requires a standard Broncolor to Profoto speed ring to use it the way I do, but that is just fine even on a B1x or B10 series - does not stress the mount or tip the light . It works beautifully on an extension pole because it is so much lighter than the metal version. The light quality is slightly different than a solid metal dish...but not inferior...hard to quantify. I like it better. It folds up incredibly small. weighs next to nothing (aside from the speed ring) .

Make sure to purchase a speedring if you need one.

Compact, sturdy, collapsible and produces a beautiful light. It can be used also a softbox with the diffuser in front so you have 2 modifiers instead of one. Since I got it I always carry with me since is so small when folded.

If you're looking at this then you know what it is. I'll just offer that it's been versatile for me as both a location dish-ish modifier and as another soft box when I want that. Primarily shoot on-location portraits for editorial, often outside, and its portability and inclusion of two inner reflectors (gold + white) plus the soft box bit make it a good use of space in my kit.

Beautybox 65 vs Octabox 75? I read if you add the outer diffuser to the Beautybox it should be similar to the Octa, so basically 2-in-1?
Asked by: Jaime
With outer-diffusion (included) attached, the result of beautybox 65 can produce a similar result though the even-ness of the light will be less than the Octabox 75. Similarly so, the Octabox 75 is slightly more efficient in light due to its silver interior.

question

Will this attach to my Profoto OCF Speedring?
Asked by: Juan
The spacing of the holes that the tension rods go into are different and of a shorter distance. The beauty dish would not open to the correct shape and depth as it is supposed to with the correct speed ring mount. If you own a Profoto set it is recommended you get what is meant for that brand and or 3rd party makes for it to avoid issues and inconsistencies.
