Intel i7-5775 overview

  • 1Description

The Core i7-5775C 3.3 GHz Quad-Core Processor from Intel is the fifth generation of the Core i7 product line that is built using Broadwell architecture. This processor features a base frequency of 3.3 GHz and, as with many Broadwell technologies, it comes with features such as Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 and Hyper-Threading. With Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology, the maximum clock rate this processor can achieve is 3.7 GHz. Additionally, this processor also features four cores with eight threads in a FCLGA1150 socket and has 6MB of cache memory. Having four cores allows the processor to run multiple programs simultaneously without slowing down the system, while the eight threads allow applications to complete tasks sooner by working in parallel.

This Intel Core i7-5775C 3.3 GHz Quad-Core Processor is well suited for professionals who require reliability and high performance, whether they're designing digital content, working with CAD models, analyzing manufacturing processes, or running other performance-intensive applications. This processor also supports up to 32GB of DDR3L-1333/1600/1866 MHz RAM and has integrated Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 with support for up to three simultaneous displays. It is also equipped with SSE 4.1/4.2 & AVX 2.0 Extensions, as well as AES New Instructions.

Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology
Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology is an advanced means of enabling high performance while meeting the power-conservation needs of mobile systems. Conventional Intel SpeedStep Technology switches both voltage and frequency in tandem between high and low levels in response to processor load. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology builds upon that architecture using design strategies such as Separation between Voltage and Frequency Changes, and Clock Partitioning and Recovery
Thermal Monitoring Technologies
Thermal Monitoring Technologies protect the processor package and the system from thermal failure through several thermal management features. An on-die Digital Thermal Sensor (DTS) detects the core's temperature, and the thermal management features reduce package power consumption and thereby temperature, when required in order to remain within normal operating limits
AES New Instructions
Advanced Encryption Standard New Instructions (AES-NI) are a set of instructions that enable fast and secure data encryption and decryption. AES-NI are valuable for a wide range of cryptographic applications, such as applications that perform bulk encryption/decryption, authentication, random number generation, and authenticated encryption
Secure Key
Intel Secure Key consists of a digital random number generator that creates truly random numbers to strengthen encryption algorithms
Execute Disable Bit
Execute Disable Bit is a hardware-based security feature that can reduce exposure to viruses and malicious-code attacks, and prevent harmful software from executing and propagating on the server or network
Anti-Theft Technology
Intel Anti-Theft Technology (Intel AT) helps keep your laptop safe and secure in the event that it's ever lost or stolen. Intel AT requires a service subscription from an Intel AT-enabled service provider

    Intel i7-5775 reviews

    Core i7-5775C 3.3 GHz Quad-Core Processor is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast CPU with a useful IGP Probably the second fastest CPU, right behind 4790K, available for the LGA1150 socket. I paired this with ASRock H97M Anniversary motherboard, and the mobo was already flashed to the newest BIOS, and worked right out of the box. This CPU has a decent IGP and it is powerful enough to handle most tasks and multimedia playback. Any none GPU intensive few years old games works very well, including League of Legends and others. Overall, this CPU is very stable and fast enough for most tasks. Other thoughts : Any items that are shipped from B&H are always pushed down on the box. Their inventory management requires some serious improvements.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just as advertised. Install was flawless. Chipset runs great. Nothing short of what was expected, which is perfect for any new pc hardware. Put it on an Asrock extreme6 and used a corsair h110 cooler with no problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best all-around CPU Probably the best all-around cpu, whether for mainstream or enthusiasts. Non-gamers have an excellent low/mid-range IGP (between GTX 650 and 750 performance). Enthusiasts/gamers can simply install a video card and then automatically benefit from the huge 128MB L4 cache (sweet!). All that at just 65W TDP. The only neglected crowd might be overclockers. Don't expect speeds to reach 4GHz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from i7 5775C: A Great Processor This little-known gem has a lot of performance on tap. It's becoming a niche chip now, for those who still have a Z97 board it's a drop-in upgrade. The unique feature of this rare Broadwell cpu is the 128MB of L4 Cache. This makes it an awesome gaming cpu. It provides a smoothness and performance in games beyond newer cpus, that are clocked much higher. B & H Photo is one of the few remaining stores that has any of these gems. Their service is excellent, and shipping to Canada was handled superbly. Get one while they are still available!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The fastest CPU for LGA 1150 Mine does 4.3 GHz without a lot of drama at 1.24v. Delidded; have to be careful when doing so. Runs cool and super fast. Was unstable at stock until I flashed BIOS. Overall an amazing chip, a solid (if small) upgrade from the 4790K it replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gaming Behemoth This this gave me 25% more fps than my old 4790k. The 4790k @ 4.9 Ghz gets absolutely REKT by a 5775-c @ 4.2Ghz. Unbelievable cpu, I can't believe this isn't the world's #1 selling cpu. Oh, yeah, Intel tried to bury it. Do yourselves a favor and buy one before they all sell out.
