Calibrated Color is a series of color effects lighting filters designed specifically to the spectral sensitivity of color film.

The series includes the primary colors Blue, Green and Red, along with the secondary colors Yellow, Magenta and Cyan followed by Pink and Lavender.

Each color is designed in four densities: 15, 30, 60 and 90, corresponding to the familiar 1/2, 1, 2 and 3 stop calibrations.

In color photography, three light-sensitive emulsion layers separately record the individual blue, green and red components of the spectrum.

CalColor filters adjust the transmission of these color components at the individual light source in a familiar and reliable manner.

As a result, the cinematographer can exercise selective and predictable control over the image's coloration as rendered by the film.

#4630 Filter - Red (1 Stop) - 20x24" is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Underwater usage as well I purchased this filter for use inside the lens assembly of a focus light (Fantasea Nano) for underwater photography. Red lights are less disruptive to marine life, especially at night, and can help prevent the marine life from taking shelter before you get a chance to shoot them. I found the filter shipped fine (rolled, no creases) and was plenty large for me to cut out several circles. I ended up choosing to layer 3 sheets, so I suppose I could have bought the 2 or 3 stop red, but didn't know that ahead of time. I did find during cutting that it wrinkled kind of easily - perhaps that's to be expected but may be a bit fragile for more of its intended uses.
