The Thunder SATA Go Mini Dock from Akitio is a portable bus powered SATA to Thunderbolt adapter and hub that allows users to connect their SATA storage devices, such as hard drives or SSDs, to a computer via the Thunderbolt port. With the Thunder SATA Go, users can achieve file transfers at speeds up to 530 MB/s for applications such as editing content in the field. This product is not compatible with a computer running Windows under Apple Boot Camp.

High-Speed I/O Performance
With the fast throughput performance of the Thunderbolt connection and the 6 Gbps eSATA interface, solid-state drives (SSDs) can run at full SATA III speeds. A single SSD can reach speeds up to 530 MB/s, and if two SSDs are combined in a RAID array, transfer rates can go even higher.
Portable and Bus Powered
This compact Thunderbolt to SATA mini dock runs on bus power alone without the need for external power. With its tethered Thunderbolt cable, the Thunderbolt to eSATA adapter is easy to use with a notebook.
SSD Reader
The included SATA cable with USB power provides users with the ability to connect any SSD, regardless of brand or capacity, straight from a camera to a laptop without needing to plug it into a power outlet.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Warning: Trashed my SSD I plugged in my SSD with the included cable. �A moment later I received the message: Volume no longer responding. �My SSD was dead. I also tested with an external eSATA enclosure (with an old disk I didn't mind loosing) and it didn't work at all - drive not recognized. �At least it didn't trash that disk too.
