    Netgear R6400 reviews

    R6400 AC1750 Smart Wi-Fi Router is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Netgear AC 1750--first use Even the Charter tv internet install guys could not get the router to work and I had to call Netgear to go through their setup routine. This early glitch may have been due to the fact that I had not registered my new router on the company's website. The router seems to work fine, is a bit slower to warm up than others I have had over the years. And, the lights on the front on the unit are too bright for us. The English skill of the Netgear person was a bit lacking, but their knowledge and setup assistance was super. BTW, the router is sending a strong 802.11ac WiFi signal 30+ feet away to my new LG 49 smart tv via the 5 GHz band.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Readyshare vault feature works intermittently I am disappointed in this router. I bought it because it had USB 3.0 where I could attach a memory stick and gain access to it from Tivo and to use it for backups. I struggled to get it working and you can see a long thread of people having the same issue on the Netgear community forum. It worked for a day then stopped working. It seems intermittent - my PC doesn't recognize it, but then it does. I am thinking of returning it. Nice feature is the ability to have guest networks. Signal strength is better than my old Linksys WRT400N but not THAT much better. I think the external antennas help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product This router was highly rated by The Wire cutter website. The router was easily installed and configured by following the installation instructions and user manual. Signal strength is excellent and the router works well with my Net gear wireless extender. The was a very cost effective replacement for my decade old Lynksys wireless router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far the most stable router at any price ! Glad to buy it, as I have several dozen of neighbours with strong routers around and typically ANY router losses connection to my 4 notebooks and half dozen of smartphones, printers etc. I have to reboot normally 3-6 times per day. Netgear R6400 does this in a way that all other routers go to trash. it simply keeps connection. I do not care about speed, as I am not streaming freak, but about stability of my home network. So far the best Wi-Fi router, it is so affordable that I do not understand why anyone buys other costier options. For comparison, I've used and returned several high-end routers priced from 250$ up (Asus, DLink, TP Link, Linksys) and neither of them was capable to maintain functionality under my conditions. Of course for happy campers who are alone with their router without aggressive neigbourhood with wave attacks all over, other routers might be just fine. I am ordering 2nd one for my office, as well. Kudos to Netgear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great reception, easy setup This router has great reception and speed. Setup was easy. The only complaint, is that it is a little bulky, but in order to get the desired reception, that footprint is probably necessary

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good I bought this router because my wife complained about not being able to use the internet if she was at the other end of the house from our old router (2011 Apple Airport Extreme). I had to call Netgear to resolve a problem with setup but it was less painful than I thought it would be. My wife can get on the internet in the bedroom now so she likes the new router. I've done some informal testing and it appears that my download and upload speeds (PC and Mac) are significantly better than with the old router which is what I expected. What I don't like: 1. There are 2 USB ports but one is USB 2.0. Why not two USB 3.0? 2. The USB 3.0 port is on the front. I would prefer it to be more hidden since I have the router in plain sight and USB cable would be hidden like other cables if it were on the back of the router.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable WiFi ExtremelySlow and Support is Non Existent! The User Guide is useless! Had issues from the get go! Tech Support solved the initial problem after over an hour but Router had a firmware update that would NOT load into router per Tech Support. They just dismissed to try another time. 4 of 5 connections were via ethernet cable...1 WiFi and it tools 5-15 minutes to load a simple web page. If I connected directly to DSL modem went instantly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from WiFi Didn't Last long! Terrible Signal Strength! on 3rd Router..WiFi failed all 3 times. Repeated attempts to get replacement from NetGear was fruitless. YES it was within warranty. Terrible Customer Service and terrible Tech Support. Could never update firmware and WiFi reach was terrible!
