Tamron SP 45mm f/1.8 Di USD Overview

Slightly wider than the venerable 50mm standard focal length, the Sony A mount SP 45mm f/1.8 Di USD from Tamron presents a unique perspective and pairs it with a sophisticated optical layout for enhanced image quality. One Low Dispersion element and two aspherical elements help to control a variety of aberrations and distortions for consistent and even illumination and sharpness, as well as reduced color fringing, and eBAND and BBAR coatings work to suppress flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color fidelity.

Complementing the imaging capabilities, this 45mm f/1.8 lens is also characterized by a ring-type USD motor, which provides quick, quiet autofocus performance with full-time manual focus capabilities. An inner focusing design and Floating System are also used, and aid in achieving a minimum focusing distance of 11.4" with a maximum magnification of 1:3.4. The lens' construction is also notable in its inclusion of various seals to protect against moisture, as well as a fluorine-coated front element to guard against fingerprints, smudging, and water.

A normal-length prime, this 45mm lens is designed for full-frame Sony A mount DSLRs, and is also compatible with APS-C models where it will provide a 67.5mm equivalent focal length.
Fast f/1.8 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and also avails selective focus control.
One LD (Low Dispersion) element helps to minimize chromatic aberrations in order to achieve greater clarity with reduced color fringing.
Two aspherical elements correct for spherical and comatic aberrations, as well as distortion, for consistent edge-to-edge sharpness and illumination throughout the aperture range, as well as a reduction of sagittal comatic flare.
Ring-type USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) motor is employed for fast, precise, and quiet autofocus performance that benefits both stills and video recording. This motor also enables full-time manual focus control without having to shift into a dedicated MF mode.
Moisture-resistant construction incorporates seals around the lens mount and other areas to benefit working in inclement conditions. Additionally, a fluorine coating has been applied to the front lens element to repel water, fingerprints, and smudges for easier cleaning of the lens surface.
eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) and BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coatings have been applied to lens elements to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color accuracy.
A Floating System is employed that moves a single group of elements to control focus in order to provide faster AF response as well as a minimum focusing distance of 11.4" and maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.4 for enhanced close-up shooting.
Rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces a pleasing out-of-focus quality when working with shallow depth of field techniques.

bought this for SONY A99II, very Sharpe image,  the focus is bit slow in low light situation, but in most case, it works perfect, definitely a good lens

Sharp, but slow to focus

The optical quality of this lens is fantastic, though it did need focus micro-adjustments straight out of the box. Unfortunately however, it is slow to focus on my alpha 77 ii. For any focus mode other than flexible spot, I don’t find it particularly useable.

At last, a closer to standard-perspective lens!

* This lens, with a focal length between 35 and 50+ mm, provides a more natural perspective. * The above point, combined with the lens' remarkable close-up focussing ability, allows you to work your subject better than lenses with focal lengths of 35, 50 or 50+ mm. * The aperture of f/1.8, even at a focal-length of 45mm, produces sufficient defocussing. * The bokeh of the out-of-focus areas is very pleasant. * This model being for Sony A-mount, isn't image stabilised, which probably allows it to produce a sharper image when tripod-mounted. * A focal length of 42 or 43 mm would have been preferable... * The lens is a little longer than it could have been, because of its image stabilisation capability design provided for the other camera brands.

It's a winner.

I used this lens before it actually hit the market and I will be definitely be using it as part of my arsenal. The colors are vibrant and the silent motor is pleasing. To all Sony A-mount users we have not been forgotten...as yet.

This will not be directly compatible with the Sony A7 line. You would need an E mount to A mount adapter.

question

Tamron 45mm f / 1.8, by LA-EA4 can be transferred to the Sony a7 series camera above it?Auto focus and eye-controlled focus can get it at the same time?

I use this lens on a Nikon d750. It is a good architectural lens for me and the vibration control along with the sensitivity of the camera allow me to hand hold shots which would otherwise require a tripod. Very sharp lens.
