RODE VideoMicro Reviews
Good for the price
I got this mic to use on my canon r6 for a livestream. It sounds much better than the camera audio and considering the price compared to others it is a good purchase
Perfect on my Z50
Perfect on my Nikon Z50
Great little microphone
Bought this mic for an outdoor wedding but was worried it would not be able to pick up the bride and groom from the last row, but it performed beautifully with no wind noise at all. Great mic especially for the price.
Nice, but not usable
My understanding of SHOTGUN mikes is that they have a directional capability to pick up sound in FRONT of the mike. This picks up EVERYTHING. The on camera mike is quieter. It looks like the Micro Go is the one I really wanted. So, will be getting that one, and consigning this one to the junk drawer. Am disappointed.
Pretty Darn Good, with a few flaws
It's a good price, I have seen some complaints about hissing I have not had any issues with this, we will see how well the cable holds up. The shock mount is not very good and the wind screen is massive and really weighs down the poor shock mount, requiring you to clip in the cable putting stress on it and reducing the point of the shock mount. So that part is a bummer, I would say if you can afford it go with the video mic PRO, but if your on a budget this does sound pretty great.
Great audio, flimsy though
Audio quality is great as always with rode products, but since this is very small, there is no secondary support, so the microphone tends to be floppy when you have the dead cat on it.m lol. If there was a way to stabilize the bracket, it would be 14x better
Amazing for Sony ZV-1
I bought this to go along with my Sony ZV-1 and it works perfectly.
Does the job
Decent little mic. Works as expected.
