Does it have dual function for making Filmora videos on a laptop as well as with a camera?
Asked by: Jan
I have only used the Ride VideoMicro as a shotgun camera On my Canon EOS M6. I use the Rode NT-USB for Zoom and other applications with my MacBook Pro because laptop software usually require a USB microphone input. Rode NT-USB has excellent sound quality and I highly recommend it.

question

How do you mount this to a smartphone? Do I need a special clamp? (I have a Samsung Galaxy S5)
Asked by: Anonymous
You need something to accept a shoe mount. You could go expensive with a Beast Grip, or DIY with a simple smart phone tripod adapter and attach a cold shoe to it.

The staff answer makes no sense at all. James answer is accurate, the Sema 1 adapter supports plugin power from 1.5v to 10v

question

will this rode video micro work with the Sony hdrcx900 camcorder?
Asked by: Anonymous
Not sure since I don't have a Sony camera. I did test it on my Canon 60D with the included cable and purchased the SC7 RODE cable to use it with my iPhone, it works great with both, camera and iPhone!!I believe my Canon 60D powers up the mic via the cable.
