  • 1Description

The silver SilverStone SST-FT02 Fortress Mid-Tower Case lets you mount the motherboard in a 90° angle, so your PCI card ports are located on the top of the case. To provide a sleek design, a top cover hides your ports. It comes with an external bay that supports up to five 5.25" optical drives and an internal bay system, which holds five 2.5" or 3.5" drives as well as a single 2.5" drive. In addition, SilverStone includes a CP05 adapter that offers hot-swapping capabilities for one SATA drive.

This Fortress case can accommodate an ATX motherboard and one ATX power supply. The top of the case has two USB 3.0 ports, two audio jacks, and seven expansion slots. This case supports 12" graphics cards or 12.2" cards by removing the fan guard. To enable whisper-quiet operations, it features an acoustically padded interior and four cooling fans. Moreover, it also comes with removable air filters.

    SilverStone FT02S-USB3.0 reviews

SST-FT02 Fortress Mid-Tower Case (Silver) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it so much, I own 2 This is not a small case, so if you're looking to buy something compact to set on your desk, you should look elsewhere. That being said, I love the look of this machine. It's sleek and understated, and looks more like a serious, well engineered tool than a toy. The main feature that Silverstone brings up with this case is the rotated mother board tray. Instead of plugging all your devices in at the back of the machine, you plug them into the top. You then route the cables to the back through an opening in the frame. This might not work for some desk configurations, but for me, it's absolutely wonderful. I know longer have to crawl around the back of the machine to plug in or disengage peripherals. I just pop the lid off and pop them in. The case has 5 hard drive slots, plus an additional spot for one SSD. I tend to have a lot of hard drives in my machine, so I appreciate all that room. If you use up all those 3.5" bays, there are still 5 5.25" bays for you to use however you want. You don't need to remove any of the bays to make space for the three big air intake fans at the bottom of the case, either. Now, if you want to use a cooler that uses dual exhaust fans like a Corsair H110i then I wouldn't recommend this case. Such a cooler can be installed, but you have to remove two of the intake fans at the bottom of the case and install your cooler there. The usual spot for the cooler is at the top of the case, and it only has room for one 120mm fan. I'm using a Corsair H80i which actually has 2 fans, but they are stacked instead of next to each other, and there is plenty of room for that. Getting into the case is easy, as you only have to take out a couple of thumb screws. Keeping it clean is also easy, as all the intakes have filters on them that can just be slid out or unclipped without tools or any great degree of effort. So in summation, it's a very big case with lots of space. It's easy to get into and around. And it looks like it's meant for professionals.
