This MA-400 Microphone Adapter from Canon is compatible with the Cinema EOS C300 Mark II and XC15 4K camcorders. I bought one while my monitor unit was being repaired (and I had to use the EVF). Lightweight and durable. I do wish the mic holder would tilt, as I wish all mic holders would.

I understand this works with the Canon X-15, but how about with the Canon XC-10? Would this be acting as a preamp, similar to my sound devices mixpre d preamplifier that I currently use to connect a shotgun mic to my XC-10? Thanks in advance
Sorry, no. the XC-10 has only a 3.5mm audio connection, not the proprietary connection needed for the MA-400. Being able to use the MA-400 was one of the big upgrades of the XC-15 over the XC-10.

Where can I mount a wireless Lav on to this?
We would suggest using a bracket such as this one: Vello V-Rig 5 Triple Shoe Bracket B&H # VECB465 or this one: Vello 6 Cold Shoe Extension B&H # VESE200. Without the audio units in front of us to measure, these bracket options are a guess. If you have the MA-400 and the wireless lav, do check their size before ordering. You may need the next smaller or larger sizes. (which are available as well)

Sorry, but the 1D X Mark II does not have the correct cable connections for this microphone adapter. If you wish to add good microphones, use a separate audio recorder or the Tascam DR-60DmkII 4-Channel Portable Recorder for DSLR B&H # TADR60DMKII or a similar unit. These recorders can record independently or feed the audio into the camera.

No. The canon R5c does not offer a un-5 pin connection nor are there any adapters in the works.
