A Micro Four Thirds CMOS sensor with 4K image capture is introduced to DJI's quadcopter line with the Inspire 1 v2.0 PRO featuring the Zenmuse X5 camera and gimbal system along with a 15mm f/1.7 lens. Forgoing the fixed landing gear design found on many earlier quadcopters, the Inspire 1 features a retractable arm system whereby the underside of each prop motor has a foot to act as a landing pod when the arms are lowered. In-flight, the arms lift up to provide the camera an unobstructed 360-degree view. A 3-axis gimbal keeps shots steady and the camera pointed the same direction as the quadcopter banks and turns. The camera records internally to microSDHC/SDXC memory cards and can also beam a live 720p feed to a mobile device running the DJI GO app or a monitor or FPV glasses with an HDMI input. One transmitter (radio controller) is included and a second can be added so that one operator can pilot and another can pan and tilt the camera.

As with many other multi-rotor systems, the Inspire 1 relies on a GPS-based stabilization system that - thanks to spatial awareness - is able to hold a position even when experiencing wind interference, can compensate for overzealous pilot inputs to help avoid stalling, automatically brings the aircraft home in the event of signal loss or at the press of a button, and makes possible a number of semi-automated flight modes that can be enabled through the app. There is also an "indoor" mode which relies on Vision Position technology - combining optical flow with ultrasonics - to provide stability indoors or in other contexts where GPS is unavailable (Note: certain features will be unavailable in indoor mode).

What Ready-to-Fly Means
This Inspire 1 bundle comes ready-to-fly (RTF). This means a pre-bound transmitter (radio controller) is included and that no major assembly is required – in particular, no assembly that requires soldering. It is important – as with any multi-rotor – to follow the user guide to ensure proper calibration before embarking on your first flight

Sporting a Micro Four Thirds CMOS sensor, the Inspire 1 v2.0 PRO introduces mirrorless camera performance to the Inspire series. The featuring a standard MFT mount, the Zenmuse X5 camera includes the Panasonic Lumix 15mm f/1.7 lens, and also works with the separately available Olympus M. ED 12mm f/2.0 lens
4K and HD Video Capture
The Zenmuse X5 is able to capture video at up to DCI 4K 4096 x 2160 at 23.98p or UHD 4K at 29.97p
16MP Stills Capability
Not just for video, the Zenmuse X5 can snap still from the air at up to 16MP resolution. In addition to single-shot, the camera support busts of 3, 5, or 7 frames and can take time-lapse at stepped intervals of between three and 60 seconds
3-Axis Gimbal
The Zenmuse X5 camera is mounted via an integrated 3-axis gimbal which uses brushless servo motors to keep the shot stable and the horizon level. The camera pans a full 360-degrees so that no matter which way the quadcopter turns, the camera can remain locked on the subject. Manual panning and tilting can be affected using controls on the transmitter
Live HD View
A real-time feed from the Zenmuse X5 camera can be displayed in 720p HD on a mobile device or HDMI monitor, making this it a great choice for FPV (first-person view) flying as well as enabling videographers and photographers to monitor framing from the ground. This is made possible by the inclusion of the DJI Lightbridge system within the flight electronics, which features a range of up to 1.2 miles

For connecting an FPV monitor or glasses there is an HDMI port on the transmitter. Plus there is a USB port to keep you mobile device's battery topped up. And included mount allows you to attach a smartphone or tablet directly to the transmitter

Airframe Design

Retractable Carbon Fiber Arms
The prop arms rest in a lowered position when the Inspire is on the ground, acting as landing gear. Once in the air, they can be retracted to give the camera unobstructed views across 360-degrees. Carbon fiber is used in the construction because of its high strength to weight ratio
Aerodynamic Design
Not only does it give the Inspire 1 a sleek look, the aerodynamic airframe helps reduce resistance for better performance and increased battery life

Flight Control System

Fly Indoors and Without GPS
DJI's Optical Flow technology uses a specially designed camera as well as sonic waves to provide the same stability function indoors as GPS does outdoors. This technology allows the Inspire to hold its location, stop when the controls are released, and quickly respond to pilot commands even when GPS is unavailable
App-Based Control Software
Everything from manual camera controls to flight telemetry – even auto takeoff and landing – can be accessed via the Inspire 1 Mobile app. It is also possible to create autopilot courses using waypoints, just as you would on the DJI iPad Ground Station System

Note: The tablet must be connected to the transmitter via USB, and to use the waypoint map an Internet connection is required
Manual Mode
Change all of your camera settings, including ISO, White Balance, Exposure, and more on the fly ensuring every shot looks exactly the way you want
Live Map and Radar
See precisely where your Inspire 1 is at all times on the live map. The map can be enlarged when needed, and shows your most recent flight path
Dynamic Home Point
When GPS signal is available on the transmitter (remote control), the Home Point automatically refreshes. This becomes useful while traveling in a car or on a boat allowing the return-to-home point to move where the operator goes. Multiple configurations are available via the Dynamic Home Point function
Auto-Takeoff and Landing
Takeoff and landing are available with just a tap. Tap once to takeoff and your Inspire 1 will hover and transform, ready to start filming. Then tap again to make it transform into landing mode and auto land
Transmitter Customization
Put yourself in charge by tailoring the Inspire 1's controls to your personal needs. This way, your Inspire 1 moves and responds in ways you're most comfortable with

Transmitter (Radio Controller)

Take control of your Inspire 1 in the air with a dedicated transmitter (radio controller) designed specifically for it. Operating on 2.4 GHz, it features dedicated buttons for photo and video capture, a gimbal control dial, and more. It includes an integrated 6000mAh rechargeable battery
    Use Two Transmitters
    For an even greater level of precision, use a second transmitter and fly with a friend.     Rated 3 out of 5 by from Image Transmission Error / Battery Error I give this 3 stars, because I know it's going to be great when it works! Received my Inspire 1 Pro yesterday, and spent the evening upgrading the firmware for the batteries, RC, and copter. I couldn't get a video feed - tried multiple locations aside from my apartment, and nothing would work. DJI support recommended cleaning the gimbal contacts, because they were probably dirty -- even though I hadn't even taken the unit outside for a flight haha. Just super bummed that I'm having to return for a new unit- anyone else experience similar issues? I'm glad to be dealing with B&H as opposed to DJI directly. Their phone support was borderline nightmarish.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply an Amazing Aerial Videography/Photography Platform I had my pilots license before my drivers license and had a succesful aerial photography business for several years awhile ago. The DJI Inspire 1 Pro exceeds the capabilities of what I could have ever achieved from th eopen window od a Cessna 182! The 4K Zenmuse 5 shoots incredible video and 16 MB images. The Inspire 1 is easy to fly, couple is with automation software like Litchi Fly, and every mission is a guaranteed success! Add to that the ease of ordering from B&H, a company I have shopped since the early eighties, and you have the perfect partner to start your aerial imaging endeavors.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible! With zero experience flying quadcopters, I was able to get this bird up and get stunning images right away. Setup is very easy, aside from the very annoying firmware update. Features on the DJI app are incredibly helpful, especially the intelligent flight modes. Battery life is short, only around 12 minutes, but that's understandable considering the weight of the drone. So plan on have a couple spare batteries. My only other wish would be to be able to adjust the sensitivity of the joysticks. I would not recommend indoor flight unless the space is huge and you are an experienced pilot. Otherwise, expect to get smooth, beautiful footage, captured by an excellent camera system. This thing is incredible!

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Much better camera! I've had three Phantoms including the 4. The inspire is a great platform, powerful and well built. It's a great machine for the price. In my opinion it's harder to fly than the phantom 4 due to it's vigor. I thought due to it's size and weight it would be more stable...not the case. That said, the gimbal does a fantastic job keeping the shot stable. Just lay off the caffeine before you fly. As for the camera, much better than anything else DJI has ever put on a drone. The 4/3 chip makes it much more of a pro setup, great picture but more complicated to set up and shoot. It comes with the 15mm(30mm 35mm equivalent) which is a bit narrow in my opinion. I'll be getting the 12mm Olympus in the near future.

Me gustara que fuera un poco mas ligero para que la pila durara un poco mas. La cmara es muy buena, la nitidez del 4K es increble y la aplicacin DJI GO ofrece muchas opciones para controlar el dron y la cmara, como apertura, velocidad, ISO, etc. Necesitaras un telfono mvil o una tableta para poder descargar la aplicacin de DJI. En mi caso todo lo controlo desde mi iPhone 6 S PLUS y se ve perfecto. El control remoto del Inspire ya viene con el soporte para poner tu telfono o tableta. No olviden comprar por lo menos 2 bateras extras. Gracias DJI y BH.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy the Inspire 1 Pro X5 over and over again Tragically, I lost my first Inspire 1 Pro a few weeks ago to a flock of birds over a large river. Ordered the replacement, and I'm very happy with the new Inspire. Be sure to update your firmware/software, and calibrate your Inspire before your first flight. The Inspire is incredibly steady in windy conditions, and the DJI Go software is extremely intuitive and powerful. The dual controller option has proven to be nearly unusable. I've already written in to DJI about the issues I've experienced, and I'm hoping they can provide answers. That's literally my only complaint.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Drone... Pilot still learning This thing is incredible. I used it on a shoot for a biodynamic farm and the sunrise shots are excellent. The ability to grade in Da Vinci is fair at 4K 30 (which is the only footage I tried). If you've ever flown a cheaper drone, you will find this rock steady and a wonderful experience. If you are a new pilot I would suggest buying a toy that you are not afraid to crash. I had a little incident with return to home and it cost me $100 vibration absorbing board and the use of my drone until it's replaced. (and I got off cheap! It could have been much worse.) Other than my questionable piloting skills I love: 1. The image 2. The flight controls and the GPS holding system 3. Lightbridge (which I use with the iPad mini 4. The Go app I'm not stoked with: 1. Battery life (I know it's not DJI's fault.) 2. Return to home (I didn't set my minimum flight altitude so it's my fault)

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inspire 1 Pro X5 The Inspire 1 pro x5 camera takes a bit to set up you must calibrate the camera to get the auto focus to work. Once I mastered that part the video stream in 4k at all levels are fantastic. I have the X3 camera as well and I did not think the quality could get any better how wrong could I be. It is fantastic expensive but worth every penny if your using it professionally the X3 camera is perfect for the hobbyist.
