question

Is the Video in these formats: MP4, MOV (MPEG-4/AVC/H.264F), 12/10 or 8 bits? What is the max length in 512 GB card in this format? Can 1Tb card be used instead for a longer shot?
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello. For the Zenmuse X5 the video encoder is MPEG4/AVC/H.264 and the format is MP4/MOV at 12 bits. For storage, the X5 uses a Micro-SD Class 10 with a maximum capacity of 64GB. We recommend using a UHS-1 Micro SD card to minimize the delay when reading and writing high resolution video data. Thanks.

question

Does this camera have any type of video output? SDI or HDMI?
Asked by: Todd O.
Yes and no. The camera itself does not have an out as it is designed to be used with other DJI products. That said, when used with the Inspire 1 Drone you can use the HDMI out on the controller for a direct feed. I'm not personally familiar with the Osmo handheld grip that can also be used with this camera, but a quick look through the photos and specs would imply that it does not have a similar option.

question

What is the highest useable ISO on the X5? 400? 800? (for use on the Osmo not as a drone camera)
Asked by: Rowan
Rowan, it's my experience that 800 is about as high as you want to go and still get very good results. You can go a few step higher and it still looks good but anything at or above 1600 will probably not be exceptable for commercial work. Night time or low light settings would start at a low F-stop 1.7 or 2.0, ISO about 400, and shutter as slow as you can for the situation you are using for. Really doesn't matter if it's on the Inspire or the Osmo. I have used it with the stock lens and both Olympus 12mm and 25mm and I'm real happy with all three. Good luck.
