Behringer MS8000 overview

  • 1Description

The ULTRALINK MS8000 from Behringer is an eight-channel microphone splitter suitable for recording consoles, monitoring systems, interfaces, and more. It features eight XLR inputs and sixteen XLR outputs, with each input automatically split into two outputs—one pre-transformer and one post-transformer—in order to feed different types of gear. Press any link button on the front panel and one input will be routed into four outputs, allowing you to send a vocal mic to the FOH console, a recording interface, in-ear monitors, and a broadcast truck, all at the same time. Furthermore, this unit features ground lift switches to eliminate hum on every channel, as well as phantom power on eight of the sixteen outputs.

    Behringer MS8000 reviews

ULTRALINK MS8000 8-Channel Microphone Splitter is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what the doctor ordered I use the AVIOM system for our band's personal monitor system. It works well with analog boards but has difficulty with digital boards that don't have 16 insets or direct outs. I picked up two of these so I could split our inputs between the FOH board and our monitors. At $$each, these were an extremely affordable alternative to a 16 channel splitter snake. The only thing I would suggest to the next version would be adding gain controls for each channel. But then, adding preamps would drive the price up.For what it is, I'm very happy. I'm surprised that only BH Photo & Video and one other store is carrying this item. It's a great find!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Great for Live Recording I'm using 2 of the MS8000's for splitting signals at the stage to feed my recording console and the band's PA/Monitors/Snake. Set-up is fast and easy and the transformer isolated split lets me control all the 48V phantom power without worrying about damaging the band's console inputs. The transformer split seems to be down a few db and requires the band to increase the gain on their inputs.
