RODE DEADCAT VMPR Reviews
Perfect Fit
Perfect fit, easy on/off with secure Velcro, greatly reduces wind noise when shooting outside.
Serves it's only function well
What else can be said? It does what it's supposed to. Don't think it can really be done any better or any different. I'm pretty sure any other company would make this type of thing exactly the same.
Perfecto
Me gust que vena incluido de manera gratuita. Y a pesar que ya tiene la funda el propio micrfono, con esto te aseguras que el sonido quede ms ntido
Does it's job
Must have for windy days
Needed for shooting outside
This deadcat makes a significant difference when you're recording audio outside. It goes on easily and fits the Rode VideoMic Pro perfectly. You may need to take it off when changing the battery, but it's not an inconvenience. You also still have access to back controls, so the deadcat doesn't hinder those functions.
Does it's job, but covers the switches
Everytime I have to turn on or off the mic, I have to stretch the deadcat so I can access the switches which I don't think is good in the long term for it's integrity. In term of reducing noise caused by wind, it works really well. Installation is weird and I had to watch some YouTube video to be able to do it.
Schrödinger Approved
The UPS driver arrived at my door with this package, and I smiled and said Do you know anything about quantum physics and the Shrödinger's Cat hypothesis? He told me he took a physics class at university and was familiar with the experiment, and asked why I brought it up. I told him the box he was holding was that very quantum experiment, but I could predict with 100% accuracy the state of the contents of the box *before* observing them (which would collapse their quantum state). He was surprised I claimed I could make a prediction with such confidence when my odds were only ever going to be 50/50, so I grabbed a Sharpie and wrote on the top of the box DEAD CAT, and began to open the box in front of him. When I reached inside and withdrew and showed him the Røde wind muff, he told me I had made his year... and physics once again proved itself to be downright hilarious. All joking aside, this thing is perfect on my Videomic Pro. It seemed a bit big at first, but then I figured out how to wrap it around the controls at the back of the mic. Now I just need to find some wind to properly test its acoustic performance!
Dead cat
Works well, seems durable and looks good. So far so good for me
