The Pro 58mm 99-UVBTS Brass UV Filter is Chiaro’s top-performing protective UV filter offering 99% light transmission. It’s ideal for photographers who demand the highest-quality glass and other essential features for uncompromised image fidelity and premium construction.

To achieve superior 99% light transmission, Chiaro uses highly-polished Schott glass, multi-coating, and additional advanced elements that improve the filter’s light transmission. A scratch-resistant coating minimizes scratching of the glass and helps assure that water, oil, dust, and fingerprints are removed with a gentle wipe. The durable brass filter ring is designed to screw on and off effortlessly, and it’s thin to prevent vignetting when used with wide-angle lenses. Side knurling is crafted to help ensure that you’ll have a firm grip when attaching or removing your filter.

99% Light Transmission
Protecting your lens doesn't mean you have to lose optical quality. By using highly-polished Schott glass and advanced coatings, Chiaro can offer a 99% transmission rate, which is the highest possible transmission rate for glass. And the company verifies the ratings with ISO certified lab testing.
Resistance Coating
The layers of advanced resistance coating on the filter are designed to resist moderate scratches, and allows you to easily clean your filter. Water beads up and rolls off your filter, and oil and fingerprints can come off with a gentle wipe. Dust and debris won't adhere to the filter and can be removed with a puff of air.
Polished Schott Glass
Glass that's polished to perfection is essential to achieve a high level of light transmission. The Schott glass in this Chiaro filter is highly-polished for flatness that ensures superior optical clarity.
Multi-Coating
Multi-coating enhances light transmission to the demanding level set for all Chiaro filters. It reduces unwanted internal reflections and ghosting that can compromise your images.

Brass Construction

Top and Side Knurling

Added this to my new Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens. This brass filter and glass is as solid as it gets. DO NOT HESITATE. If you need a 77 mm photo filter, GET THIS ONE. IT IS FANTASTIC.

I have ambiguous feelings about filters. You research resolution charts to find quality optics and then buy this quality lens and throw an inexpensive piece of glass in front of it... So here I did just that, purchased a high end expensive lens and felt from a recent experience that I want to protect the coating and front element of this lens. So I came here looking for a quality filter that wasn't ridiculously expensive either. Came across this brand Chiaro, didn't know like other brands. But I saw that it was high light transmission filter made with Schotts optical glass and brass ring and was reasonable in cost. Happy to say that once it arrived the initial reaction was very positive. The packaging is terrific with a nice detailed insert explaining filters in general. It was useful information. The filter itself feels like a quality product, I like how thin it is as well. No worries about vignetting with the wide end of my lens. I had a cheaper filter handy and looked through both side by side and was stunned at the difference in clarity just hand-holding the filters side by side. So I happily threaded this new filter onto my lens. Then came here and purchased these same filters for all my other lenses in different sizes. Very pleased with this purchase. Feel good about protecting the front element and maintaining the IQ I paid for in the lens. Would recommend without hesitation. I see Chiaro has lower rated UVBTS, can't speak to those. But this 99-UVBTS is outstanding, and I've owned B+W, Zeiss, Hoya, and Tiffen and would look for these Chiaro Pro 99-UVBTS again without hesitation.

I purchased the Chiaro Pro 43mm UV Filter for my recently purchased Canon RF nifty-fifty lens. The filter appears to be decent quality and I have not noticed any aberrations caused by the filter. I always use UV filters to protect the front lens element. Thanks B&H for the great service!!
