  • 1Description

Serving as an all-inclusive photo editing and organizational tool, ON1 Photo 10 is a versatile tool designed to handle all aspects of post-production. Revolving around an intuitive module-based interface, different editing controls are segregated for more straight-forward use, including dedicated image enhancements, effects, portrait retouching, and browsing modules. Layers-based editing is also supported for seamlessly compositing multiple images and working in a non-destructive manner. This tenth version also features a range of performance enhancements for faster, more responsive operation when editing, processing, and sharing files.

Beyond simple enhancement tools, such as brightness, contrast, and color sliders, an array of portrait retouching tools can be used to specifically adjust the facial features and overall appearance of portrait subjects. Hundreds of pre-built effects, filters, and presets are also available for one-click creative adjustments to imagery, and combinations of filters and effects can be saved as custom presets for future use. Helping to quickly access and source imagery for editing and sharing, an updated photo browser enables you to locate image files based on added keywords, ratings, and labels, and built-in social media sharing lets you post your finished photos directly from within the Photo 10 interface. For on-the-go editing, the Photo Via app can be used for organizing and building portfolios from a mobile device, with edits automatically synced between your computer and device.

For creatively adjusting the look of your photos in a simple, seamless manner, a variety of effects can be applied that include filters, presets, borders, and textures. Live adjustments let you stack and preview effects to create your own look, which can then be saved as a custom preset for later use. Additionally, hundreds of presets are available, which are organized into Faded & Matte, Black & White, Dynamic Contrast, Borders, Hipster, HDR, Urban, Textures, Vintage, Landscape, Cinematic, and Film genres, and 23 distinct filters can be used, including Antique, Dynamic Contrast, Glow, Grunge, Lens Flare, Split Tone, and Sunshine.
For managing libraries of images, a photo browser enables you to quickly sort, retrieve, and edit photos from a shoot, as well as reject files, apply ratings, and add keywords to help in quickly sourcing specific images. Smart Albums can also be used to create groups of images based on the criteria you include, ranging from dates, keywords, ratings, and labels.
A wide assortment of essential image controls are available, including dedicated sliders for adjusting brightness, contrast, highlight & shadow recovery, white balance/color correction, vibrance, detail, or to add vignetting. Adjustments can be saved for future use and to maintain consistency in how edited images look. Additionally, retouch brushes, erasers, and noise reduction tools can also be used during the editing process, as well as dedicated black and white editing tools designed specifically for adjusting monochrome photos.
A series of dedicated portrait retouching tools lets you quickly and easily fine-tune facial features, smooth skin tones, and apply global corrections to suit your subjects. Specific tools include skin retouching and smoothing, blemish reduction, shine removal, color correction and skin tone enhancement, brighten eyes, and whiten teeth.
Photo composites can be created through the use of layers, which allow you to stack, combine, or blend different images to produce a new composition. Precise masking tools benefit making realistic final images where you can replace backgrounds, add new borders or edges, or blend photos together for creative results. Layers-based editing is available when editing in a standalone program, and can also support importing files from Lightroom.
Finishing and Exporting
Utilizing Genuine Fractals technology and intelligent resizing algorithms, photos can be up-sampled while maintaining a high degree of quality suitable for printing. Additionally, imagery can be sharpened, watermarks can be added, and prints can be prepared for making gallery wraps. For uploading online, integrated social media sharing tools let you post or attach your finished works on Facebook, Twitter, Messages, Mail, Flickr, and more from within any module in Photo 10. Batch processing tools are also available to expedite the process of saving and formatting groups of imagery.
Performance Updates
Photo 10 has been optimized to support 64-bit operating systems from both Mac and Windows, and has been tuned for more responsive operation throughout the application, including faster, smoother performance with tools and slider adjustments. These performance updates also greatly benefit the Effects module, where filter effects respond more quickly and are easier to locate and apply. Presets and preset categories can be organized to suit your workflow and adjusted to perform how you need them to.

Photo 10 also benefits a multi-application style workflow, and can be used as either a standalone application or as a plug-in with Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Photoshop Lightroom, or Apple Aperture.
The dedicated Photo Via app lets you remain in control of your photos while on the go using your smartphone or tablet. Photos can be synced between your computer and mobile device, including full albums, Smart Albums, and folders. On your mobile device, you are able to view and organize your images into portfolios using search, rate, flag, and sharing tools, with the ability to sync these changes with the images on your computer. For easier sharing of files, Photo Via also fully supports working with cloud-based storage sites including Dropbox and Google Drive.
