Armasight by FLIR TAT173WN2PRED21 overview

  • 1Description

Principally designed as a scope, Armasight's Predator 336 2-8x25 Thermal Weapon Sight can also pull duty as a magnified spotting scope or handheld thermal imager. To detect targets day or night; through smoke, snow, fog, or dust the Predator is equipped with a solid-state uncooled 336x256 FLIR Tau 2 VOx microbolometer. Unlike laser targeting or near-infrared illumination often used with NVDs, the Predator is extremely difficult to detect with other devices, as it emits no visible light or RF energy.

View thermal images utilizing the in-view color display or relay them through the video output port for viewing on an external monitor or for recording, the same port can be used to import information from external sources. The user-friendly menu allows you to choose between image filtering/enhancement options, different display color modes, and one of six reticle options in one of three colors.

The aluminum alloy housing is lightweight and durable, and to compliment its wide operational temperatures it is nitrogen filled and o-ring sealed to provide water and fogproof performance under most conditions. A dual quick-release Picatinny mount allows the scope to be easily removed and remounted without tools or having to be re-zeroed, and an integrated side rail on the scope accommodates accessories such as an optional battery pack or recording device.

Predator 336 2-8x25 Thermal Weapon Sight (30 Hz) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect unit! My son always dreamt of his own weapon sight since he was 15. Every once in a while I took him hunting with me so he learns how to hold a gun and shoot hogs. Last week he turned 22 and I realized that time to present him a rifle scope has come. We're not the richest family and at the same time we do love our son, so I had to look carefully for the best value for money we had. And you know what? I have no any doubt that Predator offers the best possible imagery quality. To be honest, I doubted that scope with 25 mm lens could perform this great. I managed to sight the unit in just with several shots and color modes let me get the most of every moment of hunting. Yes, this is a present for my son. No, I am not sure I want to give the scope away

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing short of amazing! Tried several night vision scopes and returned them when I wasn't satisfied. Thermal is the way to go. Easy setup, easy sight in. The first night I was watching a rabbit at about 75 yards, picked up a fox a over 200 yards and watched him trail the rabbit. I had actually just finished boresighting the .300 blackout with a laser boresighter at night and was scanning the field behind my house and witnessed this. Anything with body heat stands out like a Christmas tree. Watched a deer behind a grown up fencerow one night with no doubt what I was seeing. It's like a light signing through the brush. My son actually said he could see my Labradors heart signature at 50 yards. Until you've actually looked through a thermal scope at 0 light there is no way to explain it. It is truly amazing and will blow any IR night vision out of the woods. Extremely happy with my purchase! The picture below was taking with a cell phone through the scope by my son with me and my Lab at 130 yards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Predator 336 Thermal Weapon Sight Using it on an M4. It is the best of any at or near the price. It is much better than I expected. Need to learn the controls and keep current with their operation.
