What case or bag do you use to carry the G5X? ...

What case or bag do you use to carry the G5X? I've been using a Lowepro Dashpoint 30 which is alright but a little short if I put a small thin neckstrap in the case as well.

One of the annoying aspects about this camera is how easily the controls are changed taking the camera out of a case. I have settled for a sort of fanny pack actually a pouch with a belt from Photo District News! The fabric is strong enough to safely hold the camera and the zippered opening large enough to put the camera in or take it out without any problem. I haven't seen any commercial holder anywhere near as good. They all are too tight or massively padded. Try finding an old lens cap [type for a view camera lens not snap-in] to protect front lens blades. Also, with this I can easily get the camera out quickly or eve on the run. This pouch also has a small pocket good to a spare battery, filter, etc. I think a camping store might be a place to come up with something like it.

question

does it have a viewfinder?
Asked by: Robert
Yes, it has a digital screen showing you what picture the camera will take. This was the primary reason that I bought this camera. Stand alone view finders on small cameras suffer from parallax. I have not seen this problem with this camera.

question

Does the macro work as well as the Canon G16?
Asked by: Miriam A.
My previous Canon was the G12, Miriam, so I can't make the exact comparison you've requested. For what it's worth, I'm very happy with the macro on the G5 X, and it sees very similar to what I experienced on the G12. I shoot almost exclusively in manual mode.

question

Is the G5 X dust proof?
Asked by: Cynthia S.
I've owned the G5X for almost a year now. While it is well built, I wouldn't say it's dust proof, especially because the lens moves in and out.

question

Does this camera have rear curtain flash sync with the built in flash or the external Canon flash EX270II, and what is the max sync speed with the built in flash and the above mentioned external flash ?
Asked by: Steve
The camera has a rear curtain flash. I don't have a EX270 II flash so I have no information on it. The max sync speed with the built in flash is 1/2000sec.

question

What is the guide number for the built in flash ?
Asked by: Steve
Do not know the exact guide number, but it is quite effective for some fill light when needed. I am a retired pro that sold all his gear. I love this little camera!
