Decoration Ring DR-66 for M.Zuiko 40-150mm PRO Lens is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The ring of power If you have the 40 - 150 Pro lens and don't have it mounted on a tripod 100% of the time you need this ring. In spite of the name this is a practical, comfortable addition to the lens that slips over and locks on the lens collar lugs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant This simple accessory is simply brilliant. No little nubbies digging into your hand when you remove the tripod mount on your lens. (When I first saw this on the 300mm f4 Pro I thought, too bad they don't have this for the 40-150 Pro and then, bam, there it was! Brilliant 2.0!) Fits easily on the lens, looks good, and very importantly, IT WORKS! Get one! Now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cleans up an awkward situation The tripod ring for the 40-150 is huge, and unless I know I need it, it's staying behind. This simple ring covers up the awkward stubs that are used for the adapter and makes hand-holding and getting in and out of a bag much more comfortable and makes a beautiful lens all that more attractive. One tip - when it locks by twisting, there's a 2nd 'click' that is required to really to finish the alignment - the marks on lens and ring should line up. Olympus should include this with the lens, as it is with the 300 f4 Pro..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finger Saver! For some reason when I have this superb lens hand held I much prefer to have the tripod foot removed for easier balance and my fingers seem to some how find the built in lugs on the lens barrel that the tripod foot engages for a secure lock down. This is a minor complaint but after extended use it can become very annoying. Olympus to the rescue with the perfect resolution to this problem. A cosmetic ring that engages these same lugs and provide instant relief from my fingers on the lugs complaint. Thank you Olympus!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again The 40-150mm zoom comes with a bulky, heavy, secondary tripod mount. I purchased the decoration ring to be able to handhold the lens and camera, without the lens tripod mount. It fits great, with the exception that the index points on the ring and lens don't align properly on my lens. No problem, really. Nothing that affects the image output. So I nicked it a single star for the imperfection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improve your off-hand shooting The 40 - 150 Pro is a great lens but it came with only the tripod mounting ring which, when removed leaves the lugs for aligning the tripod ring exposed and uncomfortable to hold. The 300 Pro includes the decoration, self-defense ring as part of the package but since it was included with the 40 - 150 it is an important piece to your off-hand shooting equation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overpriced and doesn't match the lens, but does its job... I think this ring should be included with the 40-150 PRO like it is with the 300 f/4, but I suppose I should be happy it's even made (I also shoot Canon who doesn't even offer one). I can't say I'm highly impressed with this item, even though it's functional and does it's job. When I ordered this ring, I was expecting something a little more robust and maybe even with a metal veneer or metal look coating on the outside to match the lens and look shiny like in the photo. What I received has a matte black plastic finish that doesn't match the lens, and it's more of a dark grey vs black which is kind of surprising. Not a huge deal, but when you're paying this much for a decoration it should at least match, wouldn't you think?. That said, it does fit well and definitely keeps the turrets from digging into your hands while shooting. If it were half this price I probably wouldn't complain, it just seems like an afterthought. I don't have the 300 to compare, so maybe they're both the same.
