Beats by Dr. Dre Pill+ Overview

The Beats Pill+ Portable Speaker in black from Beats by Dr. Dre allows you to play music from your phone, laptop, or any other Bluetooth-enabled device. It features a 2-way crossover system that's designed to deliver an enhanced sound field and dynamic range for all your favorite tunes. You can also pair an optional second Beats Pill+ for increased output or stereo functionality.

In addition to its audio playback functionality, the Pill's built-in speakerphone allows you to make and receive calls. The Beats Pill+ also has a built-in USB port for charging any compatible external accessories. Additionally, a Lightning to USB Type-A cable and AC power adapter are included with this portable speaker.

Meh, a few key flaws

I purchased 2 units to connect as a stereo pair. It works but here are the issues. 1. When first picking up the package it feels heavy leading you to believe that there are some strong magnets in the speakers. After opening, I found that, of the 3lb. boxed weight, the speaker only weighs 1 lb. 10 oz. Disappointing to find out that half of the weight is packaging. 2. I work-out on the athletic field so I brought these. The Bluetooth is so weak that even 10 feet apart is too far..the Bluetooth would cut out to one of the two speakers if they weren't almost right next to one another. I ended up stacking the two speakers on top of each other. Sounded decent but I was really missing that stereo width. Indoors the Bluetooth works ok..occasional drop outs about 25 feet apart. 3. In stereo mode, I turn down the volume all the way from my iPhone and one speaker is always still putting out sound. I have to go to the speaker and manually turn it down using buttons then turn both speakers up equally using their volume buttons in order to balance the sound between the two. The app does not have individual volume sliders for the speakers when in stereo mode, only in amplify mode which puts mono sound through each speaker (not what I want). 4. No Airplay/Wi-Fi = no whole house. 5. The sound is pretty decent but there's a boost around the 5 kHz frequency range for crisp, loud sound however I prefer balanced, full sound and theres no equalizer built into the pill plus app. That means Im stuck using my iPhones EQ presets which I hate because then I have to remember to turn off the EQ if listening to music elsewhere. 6. Due to being out of stock, I purchased one of these two units from target in store. It was $230.00 that means collectively I spent $410 before tax on speakers that won't stay connected outside, don't have airplay or eq options, and aren't as robust as they lead you to believe with their heavy packaging. As an audio enthusiast these leave me wanting.

A great Beats product. I am by no mean an audiophile, but an audiophile probably wouldn't buy a beats product. For a regular consumer this speaker sounds great even at the loudest volumes. Its a bonus that it looks good too.

OK, here is the real scoop!! Sure, I tried to save some money so I first bought the small JBL speaker....Not good...Ok for bass but sounded a bit muffled.. So, I decided to spent more and based on reviews, got the Beats Pill Plus...This is a great speaker....Well packaged as usual as it is an Apple product....It is solid and well built....Easy to hook up blue tooth..took one minute!...Now the important part, the sound! I am a bit of an audiophile so I was suspect as the speaker is so small....BUT, the sound is really good....Good bass but clear highs and just overall fine sound..... It does not sound like high end speakers, but for the size and price, it is one fine speaker....You WILL like it!

I purchased Sony speaker with flashing lights to beat and returned after 2 weeks when it failed . I then bought a Bose which had continuous connection issues and returned. All I wanted to do was replace my beats pill I had for years.... so I finally bought another beats , actually two now and love them !

I has ace 5 s the are because your site is very easy to use and I'm someone who truly needs that. It not only is it user friendly but you have great merchandise from which to choose AND you had exactly what I was looking for which most others did not , or it would take weeks for delivery whereas you deliver in just 2-3 days. I need that because I'm going on vacation and I'm taking it with me as a gift. So THANK YOU.

Connect one Pill to your device.Make sure the other Pill is in pairing modeTap the two NFC logos together to enter Amplify mode.This allows for both speakers to play the same music.To play in stereo, tap the NFC logos a second time.One Pill plays the left channel while the other plays the right channel.
