    HP M477FNW reviews

Color LaserJet Pro M477fnw All-in-One Laser Printer is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why is newer worse these days?!? I was so excited with the opportunity to buy a new computer, assuming that my experience would be better than the old ... or at least the same. I'm tempted to throw this out the window every day. Tell it to print three envelopes, and it does, only after pulling the first sheet from the letter-sized paper tray and then printing the next two on your actual envelopes. Then you have to tell it to print one more. Oh, but that was at first. Now, it will print your three envelopes right away, but then print the same thing on SIX sheets of paper. I should take a picture of the large stack of paper it was wasted this way. It is fragile, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Machine I have had many different printers and always go back to HP. This is my first laser printer. Finding a compact multi color laser that functions well isn't easy. I bought their second model up because it was a 150 off, just 40 more than the lesser model. Quiet, sophisticated touch screen, user friendly, I even set up the fax. Toner hasn't budged since I bought it. Ink seems to deplete in ink printers the second you print one page. Built in wifi. Double paper trays. Cool apps. Attractive. You could easily run a business with this. I bought for home use but use my printer for my job and also run a small business from home. Could serve 15 employees easily!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer I bought this printer as a replacement for an inkjet. Set up was quick and easy. the photos are a little dark, but this could be how the photo was taken. The color is spot on. Scanning and copying work well. I have not checked the fax, not using it, do not have a phone line. Setting up the wifi was easy, and I have printed from both my phone and tablet, both Android. First copy out is fast, even in sleep mode. I use tray 2 for every day printing, and the multi function for photos, business cards, anything that does not use regular printer paper. I would recommend this printer to anyone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Misleading-477fnw does NOT have fast 2 sided print The product and signage at store clearly stated 2 sided printing for this model. There is NO MISTAKING that. Having to manually duplex is NOT 2 sided printing. The stores are getting that misleading information from HP. The HP website for the 477FNW CLEARLY states 'fast two side printing". Since I need 2 sided printing, I am returning it. I am surprised HP even after being advised of this in a prior review has not corrected their advertising.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great printer, but... I love this printer. I went from an inkjet to this laserjet so naturally I'm awed by the speed and crisp prints/copies. There are 2 things I'm not too fond of though. 1) It doesn't do automatic two-sided printing, it's manual only which means it will print the first side and then you have to re-insert the pages to print on the other side. That's not too horrible though, I can live with it. 2) It doesn't print color photos very well. My old inkjet printed great color photos so I guess I got a little spoiled. BUT this printer is for work and as such, it's pretty great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wired and Wireless networking is a false promise As a multi function printer, it is just fine. In that regard, it is everything I would expect from an HP printer. The price is reasonable as well. For the past 35 years, I've been very pleased with a wide range of HP printers, numbering in the dozens, for my business, and for home. Based on that good experience, I look at HP first for printers, and only consider other brands if there is a compelling reason. I feel like I got burned on this one. This printer is advertised as offering wired and wireless networking. You just have to forego auto-duplexing. Problem is, you can't use both at the same time, and switching between the two requires significant effort. The time and frustration spent so far dealing with this makes me wonder why this particular model is offered at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install and easy to use! The print quality is the best I have ever had, be it a copy or something I have scanned. Highly recommend to anyone who is tired of constantly buying ink cartridges for their printer. Worth every penny because the savings will outweigh the cost within the first year! What are you waiting for? This is YOUR new printer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good with a Mac not so much with Windows 10 Great printer - fast and good quality printing. The only problem, and it is not the printer's fault, is that it has problems with Windows 10. The printer is hardwired, but Windows says it's not connected, Windows claims the paper tray is empty when it's full, etc. Using the same printer with a Mac or Windows 7 produces none of these issues. Color printing is clear and bright. It's never jammed, so I can't comment about clearing paper jams.
