HuddleCamHD HC3X Overview

The PTZOptics 3X Gen2 USB 2.0 Conferencing Camera, in white, is a plug-and-play 1080p30 solution for small and medium-sized meeting rooms. Simply connect it to a PC, Mac, or Chromebox computer via its USB 2.0 interface and begin conferencing on virtually any web conferencing or streaming software including Skype, GoToMeeting, WebEX, YouTube Live, and Facebook Live (see a full list in the Features section below).

Using an included IR remote control you can adjust pan, tilt, and zoom positions, as well as fine-tune other settings. Up to 64 position presets can be stored in-camera and recalled via the remote control. Alternatively, 8-pin RS-232 and RS-485 ports on the rear support optional serial control of the camera. The 3X Gen2 provides a professional, middle-ground solution for those who want more than just a basic consumer option but don't have a need for advanced high-end systems.

A HuddleCam used for my City Council meetings became damaged during an equipment move. B&H came through with great pricing and excellent shipping turnaround for the new camera I ordered. The HuddleCam video camera gives crisp, clear pictures, is easy to install and to use.

This camera is capable and flexible. It is better than the word huddle might imply, as it will work well for many different scenarios. The panning and tilting is plenty capable, though a little slow. Note that the optical Zoom, though high quality, is only 3X, and you might well want more than that, depending on the use case. The standard camera mount makes this a good choice for pros and a variety of scenarios.

We ordered the HuddleCam worship streaming kit and it meets our needs perfectly. We added a simple mixer so we could draw audio from our church sound system as well as the streaming kit's microphone. The setup works well and allows us to get our services out there in these pandemic times.

During this COVID-19 pandemic, I have had to hold all my services and teaching online through Facebook Live & Vimeo. I needed a portable and easy to use Camera with the ability to pan and zoom. The Huddle Cam HD was just what I needed. It started right up once connected to the computer and has been very easy to use and is very functional for my ministry at the church while working online.

The conference room has a 50' USB run from the computer to camera, and not all cameras work consistently over it. This one is stable and clear, so we bought one for each of the three rooms.

Not pleased with this camera at all. As soon as I tried it out I had re-pack it. As the saying goes you get what you pay for and this camera being cheap in price translates to cheap in quality as well. I highly do not recommend this for someone looking for a PTZ camera with a good quality.

The HuddlecamHD 3x and 10x are awesome cameras we have two 3x and one 10x in our church and they are very friendly to use very compatible to many different programs and have a super picture for recording worship services i would definitely recommend these cameras to anybody personally or professionally they can be used with regular tripods or wall or ceiling mounts and plug and play

The huddle cam ceiling mount is unobtrusive. The camera would sit on the platform of the mount and a poll would be attached to the mount.

We also, offer a free control software on our website or you can use the one from Rocosoft. It does require a DB9 to USB adapter attached to the included RS-232 to DB9 cable. You may want to consider DB9 extension cabling available from B&H.

This PTZ conference camera is deigned for an upright, vertical orientation and installation on a flat, level surface or tripod and cannot be installed in an inverted position.
