Tamrac Derechoe 5 overview

  • 1Description

Store and transport a mirrorless camera or compact DSLR, lenses, and 9.1" tablet in the understated yet fully featured truffle Derechoe 5 from Tamrac. Designed to provide quick access to your gear, the Derechoe has a messenger style flap that folds over your gear, locking securely in place with a positive locking magnetic latch. Your camera body and multiple lenses are protected within the adjustable and removable protective foam dividers. There are several options for storing smaller accessories, including a front zippered organizer, slip pockets under the protective flap, a rear exterior zippered pocket and dual side pockets.

The Derechoe strap has a padded adjustable shoulder pad that allows you to carry your gear messenger style or securely over your shoulder. The top grab handle can be utilized for quick grab and go or for stowing your gear in an overhead cabin. Water-resistant PU coated fabrics, soft weave webbing, and YKK zippers further protect your gear from general wear and inclement weather.

    Tamrac Derechoe 5 reviews

Derechoe 5 (Truffle) is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for APS-C Mirrorless I also have a Derechoe 3, but now that I bought a second lens for my Sony A6300, it's too small. The Derechoe 5 is just right. When installed on its side, and with a Sigma 60 lens attached, it fits perfectly. The front of the lens rests against a padded divider. On the other side of the divider is a Sigma 30, a spare battery, and Watson wall-charger. The front zippered pocket easily holds a polarizer (in its square container), a closeup lens, step-down ring, and Sony IR remote. The bag is lightweight, and being relatively shallow, it's easy to keep my arm draped over it while the bag is over my shoulder. That makes it easy for me to walk with. The only nuisance is the flap's clasp. It takes some finagling to find the hole for the flap's button to snap into. Once locked in, it's very secure. I just wish the iron color was still available. I'm really not a truffle guy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from doesn't fit my Nikon camera, even without lenses doesn't fit my Nikon camera, even without lenses, the bag is too narrow, but it can fit 1-2 lenses only if you can carry your camera on the neck. I wanted an option to fit my camera in the bag.
