These filters are beautifully made and exquisitely clear.

Expensive but worth it!

The lens it is protecting is an investment so felt worth it to use the same glass/build quality on the filter. Also, it is designed so you can see the full details on the lens such as focal length/aperature, serial number, etc. when you are looking straight on. You don't have another brand's markings getting in the way. They fit beautifully and can still use the hoods that either are on the lens already, or come with the lens such as the Summicron 28mm or Summilux 35.

For Leica Q2M

I use it for my Leica Q2 Monochrom. Great quality!

Doesn't look like a Leica product

Given taht this is one of the most expensive protective (UV) filters you can buy for any lens system, and comes in a Leica branded box, I expected it to exactly match a Lieca lens in design and construction. It does not. It is made in Japan (no knock there, specifically, but not made in the Leica German factory) and the paint or anodizing looks cheaper than the lens body, and the etched printing on the filter looks extremely cheap and doesn't match the white paint in beautiful etching of the Leica lenses. For the price, I expected much better quality of physical design, regardless of where it was manufactured.

Works well, as expected

We haven't had much sunlight recently to see how well it handles bright blue skies, but it has zero impact to image quality otherwise and simply provides effective protection of a much more expensive lens.

Has a blue tint

I fine the filter has a blue tint that I can see in my photos. Leica should review this product considering it has it's name on it.

If you are referring to the Leica Summilux-M 21mm f/1.4 ASPH. Lens, then yes, the Leica Series VIII UVa II Filter (Black) would be compatible for use with the Leica Summilux-M 21mm f/1.4 ASPH. question

Why is the 13037 replacement for 13373? Better quality than 13373?
Asked by: Alexsei
While Leica Germany is not specific on the details regarding the differences between the filters, Leica does simply state that they have improved all optical parameters of the filter, which infers that our current (newer) II filter's glass and optical coatings would be of higher quality compared to their older (discontinued) original version.
