Nikon F CaptureLENS is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wouldn't buy it again Bought this to use almost exclusively with a 70-200 2.8 and it wouldn't support the weight of the lens. Added the ProPad for extra support (and another $30) hoping it would help, but the whole thing was just uncomfortable to wear on my belt and ended up being in my way while shooting live music in a small photo pit, even with small lenses attached. I'll be fair and give it 3 stars for being a neat gadget with a working design, and also because it held my smaller lenses well, it just wan't convenient to use in the setting where I would need it most often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very cool idea Secure way to hold your 2nd lens and be able to switch easily. Peak Design has a web site with videos of how this works, may be the easiest way to explain it, but basically you stick this on your backpack strap or belt with one lens on it, take the other lens off your camera and add it to this device, swivel the thing around to access your other lens, and put it on your camera. Just one hand needed to switch lenses, no more asking my husband here can you hold this for a sec while I fiddle with one lens and the other one's balanced on a rock or between my knees. What a great idea. Solidly built, feels secure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clever design I am a bit of a gear freak, and I have definitely been guilty of buying specialized equipment that I really don't need. So I was a little worried that this might end up being another expensive gadget that I rarely used. Fortunately so far it seems like it will find a permanent home in my bag. Photography is a hobby for me, so I prefer to carry around a non-photo-specific backpack. This makes it very easy to keep a macro, or telephoto lens at easy access without having to take off my bag and dig around (i usually keep a Tenba organizer in my larger bag). I haven't noticed any issues with lenses coming loose, and I spent a full day switching between a 70-300mm (DX) and a 35mm. I also use a Peak capture plate on my camera, so it was also nice to be able to put the CaptureLENS away and then keep my D7200 on my hip. Like I said, I'm a little gear crazy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great solution to my prime lens problems. Wasn't sure if this was going to work for me at first. Wanted to find a solution for how I use my primes when covering car shows. The old routine would be to do three passes of all the cars, each time with a different prime (Nikon 85mm f1.8G, Tamrom 35mm f1.8 VDC, and the Sigma 50mm f1.4 ART). Gave it a go this weekend at 5 shows with the CaptureLENS and it definitely worked well, reducing my legwork down to two passes. One pass involves me juggling the 85mm and 35mm and get the shots I want with the other lens as I think about it (rather than taking the backpack off, opening the bag, swapping the lenses and then putting the pack back on). That extra time takes away form the creative flow, this device really solves for that issue. The second pass involves me detaching the CaptureLENS from the clip (with one of the lenses still mounted on it) and walking around just with the Sigma (significantly heavier than the other two lenses). I would not want to have two lenses on it as I walk around, will only do so as part of the lens swapping action. One comment I have is that there is a very slight tolerance issues with the plate attaching the CaptureLENS to the clip, and between the lenses and CaptureLENS. They both rattle ever so slightly but was confident they wouldn't just detach themselves as I walked around. Really glad they included a lock to ensure that the plate can't accidentally be release if knocked. There is a screw adjustment to make the contact rattle less between the plate and strap clip, but no such adjustment (or better tolerances) between the lens and CaptureLENS piece. Otherwise, a great choice of materials and a solid piece of kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my CaptureLENS I just received my CaptureLENS a couple of weeks ago, but it is already changing how I shoot. Like many of you, I would try to divide my shoots into ones where I definitely need more than one lens and others where I could force myself to work with a single lens. I did that because it was such a hassle at some locations to carry a bag and then find a place to open up the bag, take off my current lens and put on a new one. That might work well at a wedding, but it didn't work so well at a gym or at a party. That has changed now, since you get the benefit of a bag carrying another lens for you, without the bag and the need to open and close it. The CaptureLENS's clever design lets you securely clip a lens onto your belt and makes changing lenses a breeze. You can use both hands to take one lens off your camera, then one hand to lock that lens onto the CaptureLENS, then one hand to release the second lens, and then one or both hands are free again to put this lens on the camera body. Peak Design has some helpful videos, but the product is very easy to use and is a big convenience. You will be encouraged to use more of your gear since it will be so much easier to access it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product Does just what you expect it to do and is easy to use. Ive been keeping my 105mm macro on it and swapping with a 300mm lense, neither of which are particularly light lenses. With them on a belt its quite comfortable. It feels very secure though I'm still not used to the whole motion of swapping lenses. Still it is more convenient than pulling a lenses out of a messenger style bag. My only niggle is that the clip makes slight clicking sounds as there is just the slightest bit of wiggle when the lens is locked in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It looks simple but ... This will work for its intended purpose, carrying an extra lens at the ready, but the instructions are ... less than completely explanatory. Build quality is good, but be prepared to spend some time figuring things out. The gadget will work best for you if you use it to carry just one extra lens, not two, though it will hold two. You take the lens off your camera, snap it on the empty lens mount, take the other lens off the other lens mount and put it on your camera. If you carry two extra lenses, you have to juggle your camera and the lens you are removing while you remove one of your two spares from the device. You'd be better served using something else, like a back pack or messenger-bag. Once you figure it out, this will work if you have one lens on your camera and want to easily change to a spare.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made quality product After dropping a $1500 lens, I know I had to do something different. I didn't want to carry my entire bag when I only needed one or maybe two extra lenses. This was exactly what I needed. It fits the lens just like the camera and safely locks to the camera and/or strap. Very well made and meets my needs very well. It's pricey, but if it saves one lens from hitting the floor, it's well worth it. I use this for real estate and landscape photography
