MOBOTIX Q25 overview

  • 1Description

The white MOBOTIX Q25 6MP Hemispheric Network Camera is a compact IP65-rated weatherproof camera featuring a 6MP night (B&W) sensor and a 10mm fisheye lens. The high-sensitivity 1/1.8" CMOS sensor captures clear images with reduced noise and short exposure time in low-light conditions with illumination levels as low as 0.02 lux. In addition to standard 4:3 image formats with maximized 5MP resolution, the camera can also capture up to 6MP images in 3:2 format (3072 x 2048 pixels).

When mounted on the ceiling, the camera is capable of providing a full 360° view, or a 180° widescreen panorama when mounted on a wall. Thus, a single camera can monitor an entire room. Fisheye distortion is automatically corrected by the camera's integrated software in live view. The monitoring capabilities offered by this hemispheric camera not only reduce the number of required cameras, but also wiring complexity, emergency power requirements, and the number of recording devices required. This camera operates with built-in firmware allowing remote access from Windows and Mac computers via a web browser, or the free MOBOTIX app for iOS.

Suitable for Discreet Installations
The camera is suitable for applications where a discreet design and an inconspicuous look are important. With the in-ceiling kit (available separately), the camera is designed for use in hotels, restaurants, public buildings, waiting rooms, and showrooms.
Hemispheric Lens for a 360° View
When mounted on the ceiling, the camera is capable of providing a full 360° all-round view, or a 180° widescreen panorama when mounted on a wall.
Double Panorama
When the camera is mounted in the center of the ceiling in a room, the Double Panorama mode provides a corrected panorama image of both halves of the room.
Surround View (Quad View)
When ceiling mounted, the Surround mode replaces four cameras and shows four directions simultaneously on the monitor in a quad view. The preset North position can be moved to any direction in the image. The camera generates the other three directions (East, South, West) automatically and stores them as separate views. Each of the four views features a software-controlled pan/tilt/zoom function (virtual PTZ), allowing it to be customized as necessary.
Panoramic View
The hemispheric image (original full image) can be transformed into an ultra-wide angle panoramic view if the camera is mounted on a wall, providing a view of the room without any blind spots from wall to wall. It offers a wide angle of view, thereby requiring fewer cameras to monitor a room.
Panorama Focus
The hemispheric sensor module can also provide two additional views so that you can focus on two areas of the same frame simultaneously in addition to the panoramic view.
Image Quality
High-resolution image sensor with 6MP resolution and excellent light sensitivity translate into more details when zooming. The camera delivers clear details even in bad weather and under low-light conditions. Thanks to its internal pre-processing of the image data, the camera can generate video streams with up to 30 frames per second.
MxLEO is an exposure and image optimization program that helps the camera reproduce more detailed images, especially under low-light conditions below 25 lux. It also reduces motion blur due to longer exposure times in low light and provides more image detail for identification of faces and license plates.
Virtual PTZ (vPTZ)
The vPTZ functions are integrated into the camera software. The image from the hemispheric camera can be enlarged using the mouse wheel, a joystick, or a software-controlled PTZ panel, and you can move the view to any section of the image. This provides the features of a mechanical PTZ camera without the disadvantages of maintenance and wear.
Simultaneous Corrected Live Image and Full Image Recording
The camera stores the entire image captured by the sensor (without virtual PTZ settings or image correction). When examining the recorded images, the virtual PTZ feature allows zooming in to the visible image and use the pan/tilt features to examine every corner of the recorded full image.
Image Distortion Correction
The fisheye distortion is automatically corrected by the camera's built-in software. The PC doesn't bear this load as the image correction and generation of all desired image views take place in the camera itself.
Application-Oriented Image Transfer
The camera transmits only the desired image sections. Only a small part of the full 6MP image is used, which reduces network usage.
Decentralized Video System and Internal DVR
The camera is equipped with a high-speed processor and flash memory (via microSD card slot, 4GB card included) to provide several days of recording time. The computer or video control center is required only to view and control the cameras. Old recordings may be overwritten or deleted automatically after a specified period of time. Most of the important video management functions that require a large amount of processing power are integrated into the camera. The on-board image processing ensures minimal network load.
MxActivitySensor Video Motion Analysis
Regardless of whether there are large objects in the foreground or small objects in the background, MxActivitySensor triggers video recording and alarm messaging only if it senses that something important is happening. Interference such as trees shaking in the wind, moving shadows and clouds, and snow falling doesn't lead to false alarms.
Several Image Sections
One or more image sections can be corrected for perspective in the hemispheric view, allowing you to monitor and record several different areas of a room at the same time, something that a mechanical PTZ camera is not capable of doing.
Smooth High Resolution Video Streams
Since image streams of 16 fps and higher are perceived fluid by the human eye, the maximum frame rate is limited to 30 fps (when using 1280 x 960 resolution) in order to provide sufficient camera processing power for other tasks.
Still Images
Thanks to the proprietary MxPEG video codec, a recording can be paused at any given point and still provide snapshots due to the absence of distortion. This is essential for security applications and allows individuals or license plates to be identified.
Backlight-Proof for High Contrast Scenarios
The camera is not adversely affected by the glare from direct sunlight. The firmware with independent exposure settings helps the camera capture detailed images even in rooms with large glass fronts.
Low Power Consumption in Accordance with the PoE Standard (IEEE 802.3af)
The camera uses only 4.5W of power despite its 6MP sensor. Adjusting the PoE class via the camera software also enables the use of PoE switches that cannot be operated on all ports with PoE class 3 (up to 12.95V).
Integrated Sensors
The sensors enable the camera to automatically detect when an event has occurred. If necessary, the camera will respond immediately with an alarm sound and will establish a direct video and sound connection to a control room. In addition, when the camera housing receives a blow, the integrated shock detector enables the camera to capture a video of the offender, trigger a sound alarm, and notify the security company by an SIP call.
Lip-Synchronous Audio Recording and Bidirectional Communication
In the event of an alarm, the camera can record lip-synchronous audio. Thanks to the integrated microphone and speaker, the camera can also be used for bidirectional communication (two-way video communication), so you can use the MOBOTIX app with your iPhone or iPad on the road.
