M-Audio SP-TRIPLE overview

  • 1Description

The SP-Triple from M-Audio is a foot-pedal system for keyboards designed to execute the standard sustain, sostenuto, and damping functions traditionally associated with keyboard performance. It also provides three independent 1/4" output cables, making this foot-pedal system compatible with any keyboard with 1/4" input jacks for foot control. The pedal can also be assigned to functions such as patch advance, sequencer stop and start, and modulation effects. It features a rubberized bottom for minimal slippage whilst playing and includes a 6' cable with three 1/4" connectors.

M-Audio SP-TRIPLE reviews

SP-Triple Keyboard Foot Pedal (Triple) is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Circuitry not up to par I ordered these pedals because I need a sostenuto pedal; I currently own a Casio Privia PX-560 where you can assign one of the two inch jacks to either sostenuto or soft pedal (una corda) or if you're using an expression pedal. At first it worked just fine, but within a few minutes, the sostenuto portion stopped working; I noticed that if I have one of the cables in the sustain jack, the sostenuto stops working. If I only have the sostenuto cable in with no sustain, it works. What's up with that? That tells me there's some circuitry inside the pedals that cancel each other out. Here's how I figured it out: I tried plugging in a single pedal to the sustain jack and another single pedal to the assignable jack and... you guessed it, it worked, which defeats the purpose of having this 3-pedal unit. The built quality is pretty good, but too bad the inner circuitry isn't up to par.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the price Used this unit on the Yamaha motif and the old Roland x8. Piano players loved them. If you love the piano feel these are a must have.
