Manfrotto MB PL-BP-R overview

  • 1Description

Photographers concerned about traveling in crowded areas with a pack full of gear will welcome the black Pro Light RedBee-210 Backpack from Manfrotto. With the Pro Light, primary gear access is with the pack off your back, and the rear lid unzipped. However, one can still grab a camera and lens and start shooting immediately by accessing gear through discreet right, left or top zippered openings. The main compartment can hold up to two DSLR bodies, a 400mm attached lens, three additional lenses, and accessories. Interior dividers and touch-fastening strips are useful for organizing gear to your preferences. Under the rear lid is a padded laptop sleeve and numerous pockets for odds and ends such as filters, spare batteries, memory cards, and the like. This versatile pack has exterior zippered pockets as well.

Carry the Pro Light with the padded top handle, or wear it with the padded and adjustable shoulder straps. For added comfort and stability, the pack has a chest connector and quick release waist belt. Made of tough rip-stop nylon, your Pro Light is both strong and durable. And for retrieving gear under low light, the interior features a light gray lining to help dark items stand out. Contrasting red attachment points on the outside of the pack are easy to locate as well as functional. They also add a bit of style to the streamlined design. In the event of inclement weather, simply deploy the included rain cover.

Main compartment features a clear-mesh zipper cover for preventing the contents from fallout out when the rear lid is opened.
Cushioned back panel for comfort and to help wick-away moisture.

    Manfrotto MB PL-BP-R reviews

Pro Light RedBee-210 Reverse Access Backpack (Black) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from An almost great backpack This is a beautiful backpack with flexible use options. The internal partition and design is excellent. The only negatives I have to say are the waist belt is too flimsy, there are no external pockets for quick access to accessories, and there is a tripod scoop that was still missing after an exchange. B&H asked me to call the manufacturer and Manfrotto told me to return it to B&H. I am returning it for the 2nd exchange. This backpack is quite similar to a Lowepro model but weights less and better configured inside. It would be perfect if a better and detachable waist belt is provided.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice backpack, but........ It has some drawbacks. Well made, fits what I need for a lightweight pack for on the run shoots. 1 Canon 1dx w/100-400 lens attached, 1 canon 1d mkii w/ 70-200 lens attached, 1 580exii, battery packs, 28-135 lens, misc odds & ends. Love the grab handles. What I dont like. Accessing the insides is a pain if the translucent panel is zipped. I leave it unzipped. The front connector for the shoulder straps is too high. Pulling it lower works for a short time, then it manages to creap up to my neck. The waist strap is not removable! Big issue for me. I folded it and buckled....not used but in the way. The straps are stiff material. Wish they were softer and more flexible. As others mentioned, this bag needs some external pockets. Do I recommend this bag? I am on the fence.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I've been looking for that perfect backpack, and.... ... the search continues. Yes, this backpack comes up short is configurability. This was purchased to carry my newly acquired Sigma 120-300mm lens, along with other gear, but once the lens is added, room for other gear is minimal at best. Giving it 2 so-called convenient side access flaps takes away wall space for attachment points for the velcro dividers. The reverse access makes it difficult to access any incidentals in the main area pockets. It needs external pockets for the little things. Giving it three stars is generous in my opinion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good bag Good bag, well cushioned, good size and enough dividers. Just really wished it had outer pockets for other tools and accesories. You dont really wanna be opening the bag every time you need even the smallest things. Cables, batteries or cards could be in outer pockets

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Spacious bag I like this bag for the most part. Takes a little getting use to the rear entry. Fits all of my gear. The only thing this bag is missing is exterior pockets. Especially if you have something small you want to put away. You have to open up the whole bag. Very well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice bag This bag is great it fits all my gear. The reverse open is nice as well and provides security which is really nice. I do wish the bag had some kind of outside pocket for keys, wallet and other small random things. Over all good buy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid & sleek Just took this with me to Guatemala and once I got used to the zipper placement (they're on the part that touches my back), I loved the access and protection it provided. Movable velcro for compartments is a must, and it has enough for all my lenses. The rain shell worked great. Only wish is that it had more external loops for affixing a monopod vertically.
