    Brother MFC-J680DW reviews

WorkSmart Series MFC-J680DW All-in-One Inkjet Printer is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 165.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, So good I had a printer from another manufacturor that I was constantly having to do a deep cleaning of the ink cartridges as they would dry up and not print after a week of non usage. Led to a lot of ink usage and trashing of the inside of the printer. So far this Brother MFC-J680DW printer has worked flawlessly when needed and does not seem to be using very much ink. It is a little noisier than the one it replaced, but nothing obtrusive and has the same functions with a lot smaller footprint. I have had the Brother for about a month now with multiple printings and have had no problems. Very easy to set up (wirelessly) and prints with good speed and quality. So far, so good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent printer The printer prints well. However, it took over 2 hours with Brother tech support to get it printing. Also It should work with my iPad but when you try to print from the iPad, this printer doesn't show up all the time. My wife's printer (HP) will always be there. The scan function is not as easy to use as my previous HP printer. I am having difficulty getting pictures from my memory card to show on my computer. My old HP would show up on my computer as soon as they memory card was put into the printer. It was a hit or miss process with the brother and I am not sure what steps to do to get it on my computer. I bought this based on a review by Consumer Reports, but not sure it works for me as well as I would like.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent The printer behaves as advertised. I set it up with little trouble, including wireless networking. As others have said, it's noisy, but it's not the printer one would buy if printing constantly. Print quality is adequate. Again, this is not a printer for those who need very high quality print, as for photos. My only real complaint is that the printer holds so little paper it must be reloaded frequently. I write long documents, and though I don't print them often, I find the required repeated refilling of the paper tray mildly annoying. I haven't had it long enough to know about reliability/durability, or about ink use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid printer, great price Solid printer, great price. Zero issues. Not the fastest, but not slow either. Glad to see it's using the same cartridges as the two year old printer that died. If I had spare cartridges left, it wouldn't have been a waste. Only complaint for Brother inkjets in general (and I assume this model as well), is they are not easy to repair. I think my previous 2-year old one had a vacuum leak in a supply hose. It should have been easy to fix, but I couldn't figure out how to get to the hose and no repair documentation is available. Sure, these printers are so cheap as to be disposable, but it just seems wasteful. I plan to continue only purchasing brother printers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replace an HP printer Direct, effective installation. Need to know your system and how it functions, i.e., not so easy for the unwary. Wifi antenna ought to be better, but once printer has a good line to the router the printing is effortless. Print quality as good as expected. Ink cartridges close to half what competitive companies charge: winner!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fine so far.... Setup was easy. AirPrint capability works with iPhone too. Scanner and printer equally easy to use. Document feeder and duplex printing are pluses.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice printer - Difficult Fax Set-up I was able to set-up the machine myself muddling my way through the instructions which I found confusing. When it came to the FAX it was a whole different story. Spent 2-3 hours with wonderful tech support named Chai in the Philipines.Had to use cell phone to talk to her while trying different setting arrangements. Extremely frustrating. She succeeded in getting it to work and I was ready to drop. Machine is slower than what Iam used to and noisier. Flimsy paper tray. Have to feed envelopes through the back of the machine - inconvenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from no hassle printing great printer at a great price! easy set up to my home wireless network and 'cloud' printing from all my devices! two sided printing; rear tray for quick envelopes and thicker stock just to mention a couple of features that impressed me right off!
