The 10" diameter C-300RS FlapJack LED Bi-Color Edge Light from Fotodiox is a light source that uses Edgelight technology that entails pointing LEDs toward the outer edge of the fixture and reflecting them back toward the middle for ultra soft results. FotodioX C-300RS Overview

The 10" diameter C-300RS FlapJack LED Bi-Color Edge Light from Fotodiox is a light source that uses Edgelight technology that entails pointing LEDs toward the outer edge of the fixture and reflecting them back toward the middle for ultra soft results. This versatile light also has color that's variable from 3200 to 5600K while maintaining a CRI of 91 to 92 for faithful rendition of colors and even the subtlest hues. It's dimmable as well from 10-100%. A back-lit LCD indicator shows light level, color temperature and battery life status. At only 1/2 inch thick the C-300RS fits where other lights just can't go. And you can work close-up too, without fear of causing the talent discomfort since running the light all day at full power barely makes it warm to the touch.

The FlapJack can be used anywhere in the world thanks to its 110-240 VAC multi-voltage power adapter. The fixture also comes with two NP-F74 type batteries for total wireless freedom. The battery gets about 3 hours 36 minutes run time at full power. Besides battery and AC power options the FlapJack comes with a mounting yoke for a 5/8" light stand stud and a custom fitted case for storage and transport.

I was quite surprised at the excellent workmanship and beautiful diffused light that this FotodioX C-3000RS Flapjack LED light produces. It's softer than any other LED light that I have ever used. This is the result of the Edge Light technology. Since it comes with 2 batteries, as well as an AC power supply, this video light is ready for portable or studio work. Construction, as well as the supplied case is also great, along with the affordable cost -especially when on sale. Great light !

I've been updating the lighting in my home office for podcast interviews. This was the first light I purchased and it's an amazing little light. Easy to dial in color temperature and brightness. Highly recommend this light.

I used this light the day after I received it from the delivery service. You can adjust the color, the brightness for a nice soft light for interviews. 2 batteries that charged quickly and it comes with a great soft case with a protective cover. I will probably buy another in the near future.

We're glad to have this luminaire in our portfolio because it is as advertised. It puts out a smooth, even light across the area. The illumination output is sufficient for our needs. We're using it both as an edge light, and as a back light or back wash. The fact that it includes a fitted case, two batteries (although we're using larger capacity NP-1s when not on AC mains) and charger is a plus.

This is the second Flapjack light I’ve purchased. It’s just the right size for intimate interview setups. I like that they come with a case and all the accessories included. The quality of the light is exceptional since the LEDs are facing inward so it provides an even soft light. I tend to shoot with existing light and use the Flapjack as a soft fill. These aren’t the most powerful lights, but in a shallow depth of field setting they provide plenty of light.

I love my led lights! Lift weight, no fragile bulbs, no heat, less power draw, effective dimming and color temp knobs. And this unit does all that. But it is he only led I purchased with no on off switch. To be sure, I can use the dimmer to turn on off, which is the design. But ..l hey ... when I set my lights, the dimmer setting is precise and important. If I kill a light for lunch during a long interview, I want that switch to turn on to the precised set I chose. Yes, bought an n line on off switch and add it to the ac cord. But ... the company loses one star for making me do so. And, honestly, makes me wonder how careful they were in other parts of manufacturing, are they similarly as cheap and it is doomed to break down soon? Only time will tell, but cheating out on one detail ... no a good omen. Bit also ...I bought it for the illumination from the instrument itself and I'm s fully satisfied on that, the most important part

Just got this light today. Need something for more creative product shots and talking head vids. The light this magical gem produces is uncanny to say the least. Perfect wrap around ok the face and the catch light in the eyes is amazing. Super impressed on every level. What an amazing product. So pumped to use it.

Has anyone tested this against the similar Dracast light for output level and color quality, etc.?

According to the photometrics of both light fixtures, the Dracast Silkray 400 Bi-Color LED Round Light has both a higher lux output and CRI rating compared to the FotodioX C-300RS FlapJack LED Bi-Color Edge Light (10 ).

What's the LED lifespan and how do you replace the LED's?

LEDs in generally can have an average lifespan of 30,000 hours, sometimes longer. However, the LEDs in this unit are not user replaceable. They would need to be replaced by the manufacturer.

Great lights. Two is plenty for a single person interview. There are not very powerful but one of the nicest quality of LED light I have seen far in term of CRI and softness. They are also extremely well built and durable.
