If you don't have a built-in Ethernet adapter, this gets the job done. Windows automatically identified and connected to the adapter. I was successfully on the Ethernet within a few seconds.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Extremely easy to connect as it's USB-C and can be connected either upside down or upside right to the computer. The network connection shows gigabit and with speedtests run through it, it shows up to gigabit speeds (minus overhead). Very happy with this product.

B&H comes through again. When I first bought a new generation laptop about 3 years ago, was horrified to discover you now need extra accessories just to attach to things like a home ethernet. My original adaptor finally died, so off to B&H! Bingo. I knew exactly where to go and a helpful clerk identified the best product. Was in and out in 15 minutes and even got some candy at checkout. I know it's tempting to just shop online, but if you live in Manhattan, or the city in general, it's worth the trek to B&H. Both great service and great prices.

The Belkin USB Type-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (B&H # BEF2CU040BTB) does not support the OTG protocol so it will only work with a PC or a Mac with a USB type C port. USB type C to Ethernet adapters with OTG do exist but we do not carry any at this time, I apologize for the inconvenience.

I have not directly tried this on a Mac Pro, but it's my understanding that the USB-C cable/port and the Thunderbolt-3 cable/port are interchangeable. However, please note, that the Thunderbolt-3 is not the same as previous versions of the Thunderbolt cables/ports.

I have it plugged in to my mac book pro which is plugged into wall,but a few times when I had it unplugged from wall adapter did very little to drain battery.
