This version of the Berlebach UNI 18 Tripod is specifically designed to carry Vixen GP and Sphinx mounts. It is constructed from solid ash wood, which gives it natural vibration suppression to ensure clear views even when there are people walking around the mount or conditions are windy.
This tripod is designed to allow each leg to be set at independent angles to accommodate difficult terrain. You can use the included chain as a spread limiter or lock the angle at a stable 23° with the matching wood accessory tray installed, or select from four other angles based on terrain, optical tube assembly configuration, and/or viewing position—20°, 35°, 55°, and 80°. Each leg is tipped with a stainless steel spiked foot that give the tripod a sure footing on soft ground with a foot step on each leg that allows you to firmly and securely set the spike deep into place.
With a maximum load capacity of over 125 pounds, the tripod will easily carry the mount and most small to larger medium-sized optical tube assemblies of all configurations, plus accessories such as eyepieces, filter, and imaging gear. To accommodate a wide variety of users and telescope styles, the tripod is capable of standing between 33 and 52" tall for optimum eyepiece accessibility. It has a folded length of 36" and a weight of just over 17.5 pounds so it can be easily carried off the beaten trail to your favorite low-light pollution observation site. It also has an integrated bubble level to aid in your setup and alignment.
