B+W 65-070138 overview

  • 1Description

The B+W 67mm UV Haze SC 010 Filter is a general use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections while providing over 98% light transmission, each glass surface includes one layer of anti-reflection coating.

B+W filters are constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. This filter features an F-Pro brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

This UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Such filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your front lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

    B+W 65-070138 reviews

67mm UV Haze SC 010 Filter is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 94.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Skip this, get the MRC version instead The title of my review says it all. This filter is not worth the money. Spend the extra few dollars and just get the MRC version instead. The build quality is great, and there is no loss of sharpness, but the big issue with this filter is the fact there is no coating, so you get really bad ghosting artifacts when pointing it at bright points of light. Try including the sun or a say perhaps a light on a film set in frame and you get an ugly ghost reflection of that light source. Not so with any multi-coated filter, such as the MRC version of this same filter, which I highly recommend instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value Purchased for use on Canon 70-200 F4 IS. No observable quality difference on or off. This particular filter does not have all the fancy multi-coatings but so what? If your lens is a modern multi-coated optic its pointless to pay more when your optic already has it. As a bonus this filter is easier to clean w/o all those extra coatings on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong and clear, worth the extra money Obviously you won't be getting the top-end filter for this price, but it's pretty close. The fit is very good, but it did come loose a couple of times till I snugged it up tight and it hasn't been a problem since. As with all filters, when it comes to the highest quality photos, I remove the filters, but 95% of the time it stays on. My only true complaint, when I took the filter out of the case it had some light dust. I just blew it off with a duster and it came off no problem, but when paying this much for a filter it shouldn't have had any particles on it at all. Make sure to use a lens hood when you use filters. Although I haven't had a problem with this filter, it is a common problem with these more rugged filters. Spend the few extra bucks and pick up a B+W filter. Avoid the cheep filters and you won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shouldn't go without I put these filters on all my lenses. This $ filter saved my $600 lens last week when it dropped on pavement. Lens is fine. These filters are made with very high quality glass and materials. They fit great, the optics are fantastic, and they are the cheapest form of insurance for all your equipment. Better to scratch or crack a cheap filter than your multi-hundred dollar lens!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Right Choice I purchased this filter primarily to protect the front element of my new Canon L lens, without causing any degradation of the superb image quality of this lens. With as much as I had invested, it semmed counterproductive to save a few bucks on filters. So I went on claims that B&W lenses are the best, and I'm not diaappointed. I,ve compared images both with and without the filter, don't see any change in sharpness. This is a quality product, and I will not hesitate to purchase other B&W filters when I need them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Quality This UV Haze filter is of the highest quality German glass and when compared side by side with a lower grade it is noticeable how truly amazing this filter is and necessary for bringing the most pure color and the lowest amount of haze. This filter is the perfect match for all 67 mm threaded lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality Polarizer B+W makes a great quality polarizer. Don't bother with the slim ones unless you're shooting on a very wide angle lens though, their framing doesn't crop your photo. This filter is used on my 18-135 and my 70-300, no problems yet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from wise choice I use on a Nikkor 18-70. It's definitely better than the cheap one that a store sold with the lens (and looking at the box, it wasn't that much more). Nice balance of weight and good construction.
