Plustek Z300 overview

  • 1Description

Digitize your photographs and documents with confidence and ease by using the ePhoto Photo and Document Scanner from Plustek. Optimized to handle the delicate nature of printed photos, the single-sheet unit is gentle to avoid damaging surfaces. It is also capable of high quality scans using a 600 dpi CCD sensor which can work with documents from 1 x 1" to 8.5 x 11.7" in size. Speed is a priority as well with the ability to digitize a 4 x 6" photo in just 2 seconds or a letter-sized document in 5 seconds.

Automatic document detection will recognize your photo or document and initiate the scan, and the scanner is capable of handling up to 500 sheets each day. The ePhoto Scanner connects to a Windows or Mac computer simply, using a USB 2.0 connection and can then work with Plustek's ePhoto software for editing, adjusting, correcting, and saving your files. This also provides access to different file formats, such as BMP, JPG, TIFF, PNG, PDF, or searchable PDF and sharing to multiple social networks.

    Plustek Z300 reviews

ePhoto Photo and Document Scanner is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only good for Photos I will be returning this product soon. I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with PlusTek and a lot of back and forth. Essentially, they shared that if I want to scan several documents, this was not the correct scanner for me and that it's best for photos. This limited feature was only realized because the CD they provided did not include a Driver for PDFs/Page Management and they didn't have software available that I could successfully download onto my Mac. While the scanner works fine for photos it does not meet my overall needs. Generally, I'm disappointed I was sold a product that I can't use for my needs and now need to find the time to return the bulky package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't Be Beater for the Price I bought this product to digitize all of my old 4 X 6 prints and it has more than filled the bill. It is very fast and even if a print scans crooked, it will be straight on the screen. The 300 dpi optical resolution is adequate for viewing scanned photos on a computer screen. In those rare instances where I wish to have a large format print made, I have saved negatives and coordinated their filed location with the file folders containing the corresponding digital image. My daughter does scrapbooking and borrowed the scanner for a scrapbooking weekend. Everyone wanted to know when she got the scanner. After she returned the scanner to me, she bought one of her own. It can also be used to scan receipts which can then be saved in PDF format. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome multi-purpose scanner I love this scanner. It's fast, works great on photos and has minimal jamming, thanks to the rollers than replaced the traditional feeder pads. I've been using this to scan old family photos, recipes and documents, and love that it's stylish and small enough to keep on my desk at all times.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A 300 DPI Photo Scanner Good scanner for routine scanning. I was able to scan over 2000 old photos over a few 2-3 hour sessions. On the positive: - Quick easy scanning of individual photos - Small footprint to fit on most desktops - Built-in software allows for easy enhancement and storage of scans On the negative: - It is a 300 DPI scanner, not 600 DPI as advertised (although it has a virtual mode that allows for 600 DPI scanning) - The 600 DPI virtual mode is very slow - Very few software options when scanning - The auto-crop and anti-skew modes are helpful but need improvement; these are particularly a problem when scanning photos of night scenes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fast, efficient scanner Use it to scan old family photos. Fast scanning and saving. Correction software could be updated with batch auto correction. Photos sometime get jammed while scanning. Must be careful in the way photos are fed into the machine. Overall, I'm pleased with the scanner for my intended purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this photo scanner The scanner has a small footprint and was easy to setup. I connected the scanner directly to my iMac with the enclosed cable. I used the enclosed CD then did the update online before using. This scanner is FAST! I scanned to my desktop. I haven't figured out the all in ins & outs but so far I'm impressed. You can only scan one at a time but it's so fast you won't mind at all. The price was good too especially since I got it on sale but I would have paid full price. Not built for commercial use but for most home use it is perfect. You can scan at 300 or 600. Just change the setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Photo Document Scanner Gives Me a Big Help! Recently I start to clean up my overloaded desk and file cabinets because too much paper photo and documents really takes up my limited storage space. I know a reliable scanner will give me a big help so I get this photo document scanner to help me digitize my paper stuff. The scanner price is acceptable and the scan quality is good enough for me. This scanner can quickly scan photos and documents without damaging any valuable item. Now I am happy to view my photos and documents on the monitor display instead of hanging photos on the wall or laying documents all over the desk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good and helpfull for the amount of scanning my mother The scanner was very good at the 300 level and even more so at the 600 level. It was better than I hoped for and helped me scan a few 1,000 of various sized photos taken by my mother in the 1930-1980's. Perfect for scanning old or new photos to make a DVD or photo album.
