The B+W 77mm UV Haze SC 010 Filter is a general use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections while providing over 98% light transmission, each glass surface includes one layer of anti-reflection coating.

B+W filters are constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. This filter features an F-Pro brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

This UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Such filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your front lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

77mm UV Haze SC 010 Filter is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 400.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value: run and get one! What a difference, compared to the cheaper Hoya UV filter I used to have. I use this for my Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L IS. Very precise and sturdy piece of filter. I cannot detect any degradation of picture quality with this filter. I also own the MRC version (double coating, front and back) of this for another lens (the 24-105 f/4 L IS). I understand that the back coating is intended to minimize reflection from the camera sensor, however for my use, after thousands of shots, I haven't noticed any difference between the two. Sometimes I have it stacked with a B+W Kaesemann polarizer (if I'm too lazy to take it off before attaching the polarizer) with no problems. For almost half the price compared to the MRC one, I would get this version if any of mine breaks. Truly excellent value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from incredible quality Weight, quality of glass and metals used in construction all add to the comfort of knowing my money was well spent. After talking to numerous pro photogs, there was one common piece of advice coming from all of them: do NOT buy cheap filters. There is absolutely no noticeable optic or focus variance, attaches securely, holds lens caps snugly, and furthermore it is an outstanding and comforting level of protection for my L series lens. This filter also completes the weather sealing process for said L series lens. This is arguably the best UV Haze filter you can get, short of the multi-coated variant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality Protection: B+W After over thirty-five years of taking pictures, i admit I'm still on the fence about whether or not to use a UV filter. It does filter out harsh UV rays. It does provide some protection against ham-handed handling of the equipment. It does provide a surface to clean without damaging the coating on a front element. But does it degrade the image? That's the key question that, if you were to ask 10 different photographers, you'd get 11 different answers. As long as I'm playing it safe I might as well go with the best: B+W filters. Robustly made, professional feeling with some heft, they just seem like they belong in front of your lens. I

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Low priced lens protection B&H has a large array of UV filters for interchangeable lenses, so I picked a mid-priced brand that specified the type of glass used. The B&W filters came well-packaged and fit perfectly on my Canons with 77 mm threads. With so many users of these lenses, it was vital that they be protected from the more ham-fisted and inattentive members of the household. These filters are easy to clean and have not sustained any scratches despite being cleaned with diapers, old rags from the trunk of the car and at least one hamburger wrapper! Protect your investments!! Get a UV filter ASAP-they also make nice landscapes on cloudy days, too!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't beat German Glass This is my 4th purchase of the same item. Use it to protect my pro-grade Nikon FX lens on my D750 Full frame. Note: No issues with Vignetting at 24 mm with my Nikon 24-70 AFS F2.8 at 16 mm with my Nikon 16-25 AFS F4 Vignetting will only show if you stack a C-Pol on top. The filter offers no distortion, no effect F-Stop. Product is of high quality. Made in Germany.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needed it more than ever this trip Used this filter on a recent trip to Boise, Idaho. Normally the skies there are clear, and bright, but with all the wildfires there, and Washington, the skies were extremely hazy..., when not brown. This filter also protects my lens, and while touring the old Idaho State Penitentiary, I managed to put it to the test on several occasions, mostly with my hands, but at least once with a narrow passageway. No damage to the filter, or my lens, and it cleaned-up a lot easier than the glass on my lens. I've used Hoya, Tiffen, and Cokin filters in the past, and just began using B+W. I decided to purchase this filter based on its construction, and on-line reviews. So far, so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works just as advertised! For a UV filter that does not cause optical aberrations and actually does help with the haze it works great! Priced around many competitors price with the B+W brand it is hard to go wrong. However, if you shoot in really dirty situations much and need to clean the filter extremely fast you might want to consider another 30-50 bucks for the pro (coated) versions.
