The iXm Recorder from Yellowtec features the LEA onboard DSP engine that offers optimum audio levels, regardless of the environment. iXm uses SDHC media to store recordings. The SD card slot accepts cards up to 32GB and is well protected against accidental ejection. If you share iXm with other team members, take your SD card with you and use it with any external SD card reader. Or, if you don't wish to swap memory cards, you can download your recordings via USB straight to a computer for sharing and editing. The iXm's USB 2.0 port also allows you to recharge the internal lithium-ion battery and configure your personal preferences.
Use the built-in headphone output to listen to your recordings during a field check, and the playback keys allow you to jump from track to track. Human voice announcements will guide you through the recording. There's also a 3.5mm jack for recording line levels. The buttons on the iXm are rugged, large, and dust/waterproof; they are smooth to the touch yet reliable in repetitive field operations. The iXm features an easy dashboard with only three light-up icons for recording, battery, and memory status. The dual-power system allows the mic to be powered via its rechargeable internal battery as well as AAA batteries, and either can be selected as the primary source.
The microphone can be fitted with separately sold field-interchangeable twist-off-twist-on (TOTO) capsules as per your requirement. TOTO's auto-sensing detects which type of mic head you're using and automatically adapts the DSP to the right parameters, with no need for any manual settings.
The iXm Uplink app, which can be downloaded from the App Store, allows you to playback, save, edit, and transfer your audio clips on your iPhone or iPad. You can send your recordings to your studio instantly and enjoy helpful features like meta tags. The iXm also comes pre-loaded with a customizable toolkit that allows you to set your own personal preferences. It includes a multi-level password protection system that makes it easy to control and design sound parameters, and offers individual configuration preferences as well.
