Its a replacement for the one that just fell off while i was filming in Havana. The place where it just literally fell of is now called "Gato muerto corner" i love B &h and also Rode as i'm an australian filmaker.. crazy thing is having to buy an Australian made product from NY because its not available as a spare part in australia... so shipping costs more than the product. I hope this dead cat doesnt just fall off.

Can I use it with the schoeps CMC641?

Hello Ohmar, you would need to check the dimensions of your Schoeps microphone and compare it to the Rode VideoMicro to determine this. However, be warned that this is not made for another brand.

How much better is this versus the windshield that comes with the rode videomicro already?

This windshield is identical to the one that comes packed with the Rode videomicro. Don't buy the windshield separately like I did.

This one is the spare part of the windshield for Rode VideoMicro & VideoMic. In case you lost the inbox one and need to use it to reduce the wind noise. And you can mount on a tripod if you have flash shoe to attach.
