What's the diference between this and the C-800?
What's the diference between this and the C-800?
The hardware appears to be the same, or almost the same, but with different firmware for different applications. The C-800 has a bunch of commercial filter information which might be of interest to movie makers, whereas the the C-7000 has more detailed colorimetric information, which is useful for analyzing displays or for analyzing lights. The C-7000 also has PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) which is a measure of how much light is available for plants. The C-7000 has a little more range on the upper end of brightness supported for some measurements. Reuben's answer sums it up - The C-800 is better matched to photographers and cinematographers, whereas the C-7000 is better matched to engineers designing/analyzing lighting or displays. The C-7000 is the unit to get if you have a plant grow operation. If you really want both sets of functionality, you can download the full spectrum, and with a spreadsheet you could calculate all the filter values the C-800 delivers, *but* this would be tedious on set!
