Capture images and video at depths up to 200' beneath the surface using this Ikelite Underwater Housing with TTL Circuitry for the Canon EOS M3 Mirrorless Digital Camera. Large, ergonomic mechanical controls provide access to all camera functions.
The waterproof enclosure enables the camera's built-in flash to trigger an optional external strobe via fiber-optic connection. Two fiber-optic ports are built into the front of the housing to accept optional cords. Alternatively, you can connect optional Ikelite, SEA&SEA, INON, and Nikonos strobes via the Ikelite bulkhead sync cord connector. The housing has built-in TTL circuitry to enable TTL exposure with Ikelite DS strobes. Third-party strobes will work in manual mode.
Built for durability, the housing is made in the USA from clear, corrosion-resistant polycarbonate. It ships without a required lens port and is compatible with a series of interchangeable ports for various lenses. For full details, see the Port Chart. The supplied aluminum tray with quick-release handle improves balance and provides an attachment point for an optional lighting arm.
Depth Rating: 200'
Designed, made by hand, and tested in USA
Crafted from clear, corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, allowing you to monitor O-ring seal and maintain a full view of camera
Close two locking snaps on sides to see O-ring form watertight seal
Controls and Handling
Large, ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons, knurled knobs/dials, and a lever, provide access to all camera functions
Easy to access even when wearing gloves
Control symbols laser-engraved into back of housing won't peel off or fade even with years of use
Camera's large, super-bright LCD screen is viewable edge-to-edge through rear of housing
Supplied aluminum tray with quick-release handle improves balance and gives you attachment point for optional lighting arm
Handle is curved slightly to fit natural curvature of your hand, and features a soft over-molding for comfort
Lens Port System
Ships without a required lens port
Accepts a series of interchangeable ports for a variety of lenses. For details, see Port Chart link above
Attaching/changing ports is easy--just press on and tighten 3 thumb screws
Strobe Connection and Operation
Ikelite bulkhead with direct electrical connection to camera's hot shoe enables attachment of optional external strobes via sync cords
Electrical strobe connection via sync cord conserves camera battery life and is much faster than a fiber-optic connection because it doesn't require camera's built-in flash to fire
Threads on sync cord connector ensure secure fit to prevent detachment during use
TTL exposure via housing's built-in circuitry is available for Ikelite DS Substrobes, while SEA&SEA, INON, and Nikonos strobes will work in manual mode only
Circuitry provides camera-specific TTL encoding for automatic exposure fine-tuned to the EOS M3's flash protocol
Circuit is powered by strobe so there are no batteries and no maintenance required
Housing is also equipped with dual fiber-optic ports as another method of strobe attachment
Camera's built-in flash is suitable for firing an external strobe, but not for lighting a photo underwater
