Combining excellent optical performance with ruggedness, portability, and comfort, the 10x42 Diamondback Binocular from Vortex Optics is ideal to take along on hiking trips, when camping and traveling, or just in case. The optics feature improved transmission, contrast, and true color using fully multi-coated lenses and phase-corrected roof prisms. With the improved close focus of 6.7' you will get plenty of focusing range and a sharp focus on faraway scenery as well as close-ups of nearby street signs, monuments' details, or wildlife. The combination of 10x magnification and the 42mm objectives offers you a generous 63° angle of view that gives you complete images of targets.

The lightweight aluminum housing is purged with argon gas and sealed with O-rings to offer enhanced fogproof and waterproof performance. The short-hinge bridge is reduced in size, compared to previous generations of Diamondbacks, to cut overall weight and to expose more of the tubes' surface for easy holding. To ensure that you have a non-slip grip and tuning, the body, oversized focusing ring, diopter ring, and twist-up soft tapered eyecups have rubberized coverings. The focusing knob and the diopter ring also have knurling for easy use even with gloves on. Also included with the binocular are a carry case, neck strap, rain guard, and tethered objective caps.

Diamondback 10x42 Binocular is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 167.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Researched the s@&t out of this purchase As I am going to both Asia and Alaska this year I decided it was time for a really good pair of binoculars. I researched the day lights out of this before making my decision. The Vortex Diamondbacks have the specs and quality of far more expensive units. In fact, the step up to the next level would cost more than twice as much, with only minimal benefit. Add to that an unbeatable warranty and outstanding customer service ( I called Vortex with several questions) and the choice of what to purchase was easy. B&h had the best price and I had my new binos in two days. I must say they were a pleasure to deal with. If you want great binos at a very affordable price, take a look at the Vortex Diamondback. You won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't beat these binoculars! I bought these binoculars about 2 years ago now and I cannot say enough good things about them. I put my optics through quite a bit between turkey hunting, deer season, and shed hunting. They are constantly covered in mud, water, snow, used in sub zero temperatures, and have come through it all just as good as new. The glass is so clear and is comparible to much more expensive binoculars. They are also super light weight which I love. Plus you cannot beat the Vortex VIP warranty. I am definitely a vortex customer for life!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome binoculars Bought these for my first elk hunt and they were great! They made a huge difference, more than I expected. My hunt was successful and will bring them on all future hunts. 10x42 is a good balance of bulk vs optics. The clear glass picks up plenty of light, on my hunt I was able to avoid spooking a herd of elk across a meadow at first light that I would not have seen without them. Good for hikes too, and they compare favorably to other binos in my circle of hunting friends. My only gripe is the objective lens covers sometimes flop in the way

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Glass That Won't Break the Bank. I bought these over the summer in preparation for scouting for hunting season. I am a full time college student and needless to say money is tight so I needed a low cost option and even with the great price of these binos I did not make this purchase lightly. After using these all summer and fall both scouting and hunting in the back country I cannot say enough about these binos. They performed flawlessly for me and withstood everything the Idaho elements had to throw at it which ranged from pounding rain to heavy snow storms and everything in between.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tremendous Value for Money Extremely good value for money. While on my scale, I would give this five stars, I understand that on the full spectrum of binoculars these are a mid range entry , the fact is that for 9 people out of 10 the additional cost benefit of the $500 -$800 entries in this category just isn't there. In extreme low light, these Vortex do not deliver the clarity of their Swarovski counterparts. Otherwise, ergonomically and functionally, these Vortex glasses are outstanding. They are robust but light enough for active use. Really tremendous value for money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth buying Well priced and very clear. Replacing my old safari binoculars. Did a lot of reviewing and am very pleased that I bought the Diamondback 10 x 42

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value I already have purchased 2 pairs of diamondback 8x42. I thought I would try the 10x42. They are good. The only problem I have is since they remodeled the diamondback the eye cups seem to let more light in around the eyes. Also there is a little more distortion around the edges of the glass with the 10x42. Other than that they are a great pair of binoculars. They are nice and light yet feel very well constructed. I think I still like my old 8x42 the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed the whole way I hunt. I bought these a little over a year ago and they go everywhere with me in the truck now. I always carried cheaper binoculars, this was my first venture into quality optics and I'm never looking back again. I can see stuff earlier and later than before in low light that I never could see before. I bought a second pair for my girlfriend for her to bird watch with and she loves them too. I never spent much time glassing with my old cheaper binoculars because my eyes would get tired and I was constantly adjusting the focus where as now half my time in my stand I'm slowly glassing the woods. The warranty also gives me the peace of mind to carry them with me wherever without having to worry about messing them up so that's great too. This picture was taken with my cell phone just held up to my diamondbacks earlier this month here in Ohio.
