Combining excellent optical performance with ruggedness, portability, and comfort, the 12x50 Diamondback Binocular from Vortex Optics is ideal to take along on your hiking trips, camping, traveling, or just in case. The specially designed optics feature improved transmission, contrast, and true color using fully multi-coated lenses and phase-corrected roof prisms. With the improved close focus of 7' you will get plenty of focusing range and a sharp focus on faraway scenery as well as close-ups of nearby street signs, monuments' details, or wildlife. The combination of 12x magnification and the 50mm objectives, which are ideal for low-light conditions and even star-gazing, offers you a generous 5.2° angle of view that gives you complete images of targets.

The lightweight aluminum housing is purged with argon gas and sealed with o-rings to offer enhanced fogproof and waterproof performance. The short-hinge bridge is reduced in size, compared to previous generations of Diamondbacks, to cut overall weight and to expose more of tubes' surface for easy holding. To ensure that you have a non-slip grip and tuning, the body, oversized focusing ring, diopter ring, and twist-up soft tapered eyecups have rubberized coverings. The focusing knob and the diopter ring also have knurling for easy use even with gloves on. Also included with the binocular are a carry case, neck strap, rainguard, and tethered objective caps.

    12x50 Diamondback Binocular (Green/Black) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I was disappointed with the optics. Not sure if it is singled to the pair I had or all of them. There was a large amount of purple and green fringing around objects. This was my second Vortex purchase. I have a monocular by them and the optic quality was way better. The build quality was good though. Not impressed with the image quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features Great binocular in its price range. The magnification is great and was utilized for hunting long range this past season. The glass does seems a little "hazier" at 550 yards compared to a Viper Binocular that a buddy had; but it is two different lines of binoculars with different features and price point. The rubber armor provides a non-slip and makes the binocular feels durable. The focus wheel and eyecups adjusted as it should. I had it in Vortex's Glasspak system and added more convenience and ease of use during archery and rifle backpacking hunts. Overall great bang for the bucks binocular with the magnification and bigger objective lens. No complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Optics Where I live we have some Optical Engineering facilities that do Mil Spec and NASA level quality work and one of my friends is an Optical Engineer for one of these firms that works on multi million dollar telescopic lenses that get launched on rockets to orbit the earth or sit in university observatories or missile systems. The comment that came from them was that these were a fantastic focal grade at the price offered, and did not believe that they were the price that B&H Photo sells them for. In fact the focus across the glass (supposedly, it's rather important to look to the edges of the glass, not just the center) was far superior to bino's that easily cost 5x's+ the price. I'm no expert, but they sure are, and this comment is really coming from a person who gets to vote and highly paid when it comes to the quality of lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bino for the Price I am a hunter that grew up hunting whitetail in central PA. I never thought of binos as an important hunting tool due to the big woods and hilly terrain I hunted in. After reading and listening to numerous well respected hunters I decided to spend the money on a good pair. I landed on vortex because of the good reviews, reasonable price and lifetime warranty. I couldn’t be more pleased with the product I received. This reasonable priced bino allowed a person like me access to an incredible hunting tool that I thought was out of my price range. For an entry level hunter, or a long time hunter that has not invested in a good set of binoculars, I can’t think of a better product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Hardy I’ve had these binos for a couple months now, first Vortex glass I’ve owned actually, and I love them. They’ve been dropped countless times and held up great. The only thing that would make me dislike them is the cheap-feeling eyecups, but that’s just what you get for the low price so I have no complaints, plus they haven’t broken with how many times I’ve dropped them so they are clearly better than I would have thought. Overall they are awesome binoculars, especially for the low price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing deal Bought as my first pair of quality binos and wow. The upgrade to these makes all the difference when glassing. Even if you’re not looking to use them for a hunt they’ve been very handy when I go shooting or camping. Always recommend vortex to buddies the diamondback line is perfect for anyone wanting a great piece of glass at easy to swallow prices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from buy it, don't look back They are a little bit heavier than I was anticipated, but they blow my leupold roof prisms out of the water. and monstrously cheaper too. they appear to be built to last. only con which probably shouldn't be a con, is the focus nob is too smooth. it glides like glass, I wish it was a bit stiffer. that may get stiffer when it gets dirty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around best bino’s I’ve used I bought these 12x50 bino’s last fall and was super impressed with how clear everything was through them. I loved how easy to adjust they were to make things clear whether it be farther or at a closer range. Definitely won’t be going away from vortex. These are something I would recommend to anyone who would ask me.
