I have a Nikon D5100 and I am looking for a cleaning sensor, my question is which size sensor should I order? the 1.6x? or the 1.0x? As long as I know my sensor size is APS-C (1.5x) 23.6 x 15.6 mm. I just want to be sure about it. Thanks.
Asked by: Jose Mario
I successfully used this kit to clean the sensors in both a D3100 and a D7100, so it will also be well-suited to your D5100. APS-C sensor sizes vary slightly among manufacturers (which is why you’ll sometimes find 1.5x and sometimes 1.6x in the description), but they don’t vary so much that they’d require different cleaning swabs.

Is it compatible with my Canon 6d mark II's sensor?
Asked by: Pstdrad
The Canon 6D Mark II has a full-frame sensor therefore this is incorrect since it is the 1.6 size for APS-C sensors. Here is the same manufacturers version for full frame size or 1.0 sensors. VisibleDust EZ Sensor Cleaning Kit DUALPOWER-X Extra Strength with 5 MXD-100 Green 1.0 x Vswabs B&H # VIDPES1X . I strongly recommend a lighted loupe so that you can see in real time where the dust actually is and you are not wiping blindly. Here are the loupes from Visible Dust. They are very high quality. https://bhpho.to/2JqxiGG Here is the one I use. It is terrific. Carson SM-44 4.5x SensorMag Magnifier B&H # CASM44.

I am having trouble getting the little glass bottle to dispense accurately. The stopper has a stem, but the liquid does not adhere to it. Is there a trick to this?
Asked by: Darwin
The cleaning solution should be designed so only droplets are released, as you only need to use a few drops at a time on the sensor swab and do not want to over-saturate the swab. There is no particular trick to release the fluid. If you wish, you may visit VisibleDust's website as they do have instructions and videos posted explaining its usage. You may also contact them directly for technical support either by e-mailing them at [email protected] or by calling them toll-free at 1-877-999-9404 between 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (MST).
