Bose F1 Overview

The F1 Model 812 from Bose is a powered flexible array loudspeaker that offers four different vertical coverage patterns, allowing users to optimize their sound to fit the performance environment. So whether you're playing at floor level, on stage facing a dance floor, or facing raked seats or bleachers, you can adapt your PA to the room.

The speaker features eight mid/high frequency drivers that are mounted on a flexible baffle, which allows you to push or pull the array into position to create four vertical coverage patterns: "Straight," "J," "Reverse J," or "C." Once set, the system automatically changes EQ settings to maintain optimum tonal balance for each particular coverage pattern.

The F1 Model 812 also features a high performance 12-inch woofer that provides strong low-frequency output, and an integrated 2-channel mixer. Each of the mixer's inputs feature independent level controls, and can accommodate XLR, 1/4-inch and RCA connections.

Flexible baffle can be configured into four unique shapes, allowing you to choose the best possible coverage pattern for the application
8 vertically mounted drivers, each mounted on a custom waveguide, help deliver wide, consistent coverage
12" LF high-performance woofer provides strong low-frequency output
2-channel integrated mixer with independent level controls on each input
XLR, 1/4" and RCA input connectors

Easy to use, and great sound. I used them for a stage production of Bethlehem for christmas and they worked flawless and wonderful.

question

Could the F1 with or without the sub be a replacement gear for bass amp and cab (2X10) as a kit for a bass player...?
Asked by: GILLES C.
The F1 is an excellent loudspeaker, but it would not be my choice product to use for a Bass rig. The F1 alone will lack the extended low frequencies you would need as a bass player. Using the sub in this case is recommended if you want to use the F1 to replace a traditional bass head and bass stack.

No worries! Convection cooling is common for powered speakers in this class. It is also known as passive cooling. There are no fans.

question

How does this compare with other speakers volume wise? We have two JBL eons 15 that are used for a school's theater production in a standard high school gym. Is this speaker louder, or softer?
Asked by: Angelo C.
These speakers will be great for that application!! A subwoofer is not needed for that application a subwoofer is really use for djs (i am a dj). Another great speaker to look at is the QSC K10s!!
