The RDNet CONTROL 8 Master Control Unit for DVA Network Software from dB Technologies is a hardware interface designed for connecting devices compatible with dB Technologies RDNet System to a personal computer through an Ethernet or USB connection. The RDNet System uses a proprietary serial protocol especially developed to create a data network, which can remotely manage up to 256 compatible devices.
The CONTROL 8 Unit can manage up to 8 subnets. Each subnet handles up to 32 devices, so it is possible to control a maximum of 256 devices managed by this protocol connected with RJ45-RJ45 cables or XLR-XLR balanced audio cables. The addressing of each device is automatically handled by the CONTROL 8 Interface during the power-on procedure of the network. The operation of the network is managed by DVA NETWORK application (for Windows operating systems) and allows you to check the operating of each device connected to the network and edit its parameters, output level, mute, equalization, delay, and more.
The configuration of the entire network and each device can be saved as a single file in the PC or in an SD card and later recalled. The RDNet is a real-time system, meaning that all information related to the functioning of each device is acquired in real-time, a function to constantly monitor all components of the sound system during performance. The rear panel includes 8 pairs of RJ45 / XLR connectors (one pair for each subnet), an Ethernet port for connecting to the PC, and a Powercon mains socket.
On the front panel there is an SD card reader through which the user can store and recall any configuration file. A USB port directly connects to PC for short distance, while for long distance you can use the Ethernet port provided on the rear panel.
