ROXOR ROXOR overview

  • 1Description

The ROXOR Handle Gimbal Camera combines a camera and 3-axis motorized gimbal into a single handheld unit for shooting fully stabilized video and photos. Featuring a 12.4MP 1/2.3" type Sony CMOS sensor, the ROXOR is capable of capturing up to UHD 4K video at 10 fps, as well as 20MP interpolated photos. For standard frame rate recording, you can record 1080p video up to 60 fps, with 120 fps available at 720p resolution for slow-motion playback. Video can be monitored using an integrated rear LCD screen, or externally over Wi-Fi on your smartphone using a dedicated app.

In addition to video monitoring, the smartphone app enables full gimbal and camera control. Your smartphone can be mounted directly to the handle using an included detachable smartphone holder. Also included is a waterproof wrist-worn remote controller, lanyard, battery, and battery charger. The battery provides approximately two hours of continuous use. All the items, along with the ROXOR itself, can be safely stored inside an included hard case.

    ROXOR ROXOR reviews

ROXOR Handle Gimbal Camera is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from No user manual and no iPhone App I will not recommend this to my friend. What I like: it seems to do what it is suppose to do; no adjustment needed to get the camera balanced: rear LCD for monitoring, thumb stick control of camera pan and tilt. What I do not like: no user guide supplied or online. Waiting to hear back from Filmpower. Took me trials and errors to find out how to change the default to 1080 60fps. Still do not know how to change the date and time. No Roxor app for iPhone. Looking forward to see how it will actually perform later this week.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from follow up to the previous review Follow-up to the previous review. I downgraded to one star. I wish I can give it zero star. I'm returning it because the gimbal became unstable and will not balance. FIlmpower was not helpful in telling me if there is a way to re-install or update the firmware. I'm shipping it back today, and getting another gimbal from a different manufacturer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Drives me crazy I finally got the gimbal to stabilize, the trick that I found, is to put it where it needs to be while filming and then run the stabilization procedure. Now, some of the MOV files are corrupted, I have reformatted the micro card, full format, not the quick format. I tried both. I've looked all over for the firmware to reinstall or even an update to the existing firmware, I would hate to have to write my own firmware, so I'm still looking. My next source would be SONY for the firmware that is similar. I would not recommend this to anyone that wants something to work right out of the box. Now, the battery charges forever with the supplied charger and made me question if it was really charging, so I connected the supplied battery to my charging station, ( WEP power supply, 5-30v DC @ 5 amps and the Imax B6 balancing station. ) And I charged the LiPo battery. This is all too much for a product that comes right out of the box...So only 2 Stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad for the price I bought mine for $ .xx USD, not the $.xxI really don't think anyone would purchase this for $ bucks. Out of the box with first use, I lost the micro SD card, it slipped by the card slot and fell into the camera housing. I had to take it apart to get the card out. The color scheme was too much, I had to paint it flat black. The included manual was written so small, I had to find a PDF online to read it. The gimbal goes crazy if you alter the position more than 45* degrees from stationary. Camera operation recording is lacking in midtones. I bought mine on @ for $.xx plus shipping, at first I tried to return it for my money back, the seller refunded my money excluding the shipping cost and said to just keep it, he didn't want it back. So in truth I got mine for $ 22.xx and that's why I kept it. There is no way I would recommend to anyone to buy this product. I can not share the link here, but I made a tutorial on youtube as to how to fix the problem of the SD card slipping inside the camera housing and also, I painted it flat black.Mark Hazlitt - youtube

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst device ever. Don't buy this, it is awful. If you want something like this device, get the Osmo. I have both and the Osmo, while not great, is at least a functional device that you could actually use to create usable video. Or if you have an iPhone, get one of the many available gimbals for that. The iPhone video quality is much better than this device. Here are some of the many problems I experienced. 1) Horrible build quality and design. It looks and feels like a toy that is made out of Lego parts. 2 )Impossible to insert or remove memory card without some tool to help. 3) Ridiculous manual that is virtually impossible to understand or even read. They took the smallest type size known to man then reduced it by 75%. 4) Required constant re-calibration to keep level and that process is convoluted. 5) Terrible quality control and customer service. The first unit I received was defective, everything was out of focus and there were sensor smudges. After weeks of back and forth with their customer support they had me return the unit and sent me an empty box in its place. Finally after more back and forth they sent a replacement. The second unit they sent worked for about 2 minutes then locked up and will not shoot any video. 6) In the short period of time that I was able to actually use it, I could tell that even if many of the problems described above were solved, I'd still be left with a device that shot terrible quality video. What a dreadful waste.
