GrandView LFH120HB7B overview

  • 1Description

The Curved 59 x 105" Fixed-Frame Projection Screen from GrandView is designed for for critical viewing applications such as 4K home theater. It features an aluminum frame that is curved to better correspond with human peripheral vision. The curvature also serves to increase sharpness by evening out the distances between the screen surface and different parts of the screen.

WB-7 Matte White Screen Surface
WB-7 matte white is a versatile screen surface, ideal in settings where ambient light is controlled. It features a viewing cone of 160° and unity gain. The surface is fire-resistant and can be cleaned with mild soap and water
Four-Sided Tension Design
The steel tension bars along with the fixing lugs stretch and tighten the screen surface so it will be flat and wrinkle-free. The tension can be adjusted to ensure a evenly tensioned surface
Immersive Theater Experience
A curved screen helps fill in your peripheral vision for a more immersive viewing experience
Enhanced Focus
The curved screen shape means light travels an equal distance to reach the center as well as the edges of the frame. This ensures truer focus - ideal when using a high-resolution 4K projector

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Curved Screens are Awesome! This is a high quality projection screen. It's an incredible experience to sit in front of this curved 120 screen and watch a good movie. You'll be blown away by the completely immersive feeling of a curved screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed out my fabric to the isf-certified HD 130 I reviewed this screen earlier with the matte white 1.0 Gain fabric and said that the fabric was the only thing holding this screen back from being as good as the Stewart Studio-Tec 130 screen I previously had in a large house. As soon as Grandview's new isf-certified HD 130 material became available, I took out the matte white fabric (one-hour job from hanging on the wall to hanging on the wall) and replaced it with the 1.3 Gain material. It's just as good as the Studio-Tec 130 material for a little more than 1/10 the cost. No grain in the screen and no pixels from my seating position with a Sony HW30ES 1080P projector. I'm running it on low power lamp and it's still super bright. This will be an excellent screen when I upgrade to a 4K projector with HDR!. The screen fabric is rated for 8K and I believe it as there is absolutely no grain or sparkles. The experts say that one must use a fabric with at least 1.3 gain with a curved screen to avoid side reflections causing a reduction in contrast. My eye says I have had an excellent increse in contrast even with my old Sony projector. It was in high lamp mode before and is noe in low lamp mode and has excellent color and white highlights--almost as if it were HDR, while blacks are black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bargain of the Western World Extremely well made. The aluminum extrusions are very solid and have a black velvet wrapping. Four allen-head bolts to assemble. Curved screen has four standoff brackets made for the curve which attach with 2 screws, each. The brackets rest in top and bottom aluminum channels which attach to the wall with screws. The channels are light and easy to position and level. The top and bottom channels are connected by a pair of tapes that use gravity to put the lower channel at exactly the right distance from the upper channel. Once the wall channels are screwed to the wall, you just lift the screen into place. The screen is easily attached by looping holes in the screen over plastic pegs. There are aluminum bar edge reinforcements to keep the screen taut and with no wrinkles. The WB-7 screen material is a matte white with no grain or gain. So far as I can tell, this material is the only thing that keeps this screen from being custom installer quality. It doesn't have any of the sophisticated coatings such as the Stewart Studiotec 130 screen I had in a former residence. On the other hand, it's much better than the DIY screen I made for gaming with a Benq 1080 projector. The box was the same length as the width of the screen and fit easily in my hi-rise Condo elevator. The components were packed extremely well--took half an hour to unpack. No shipping damage. I don't think it would be possible to get a curved screen for this price anywhere else and I'm sure that as more sophisticated screen materials become available, I'll be able to swap out easily and still cost a quarter of a comparable screen from the custom-installer market.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty enough. I hear with a surface upgrade it rocks. I installed this to replace screen paint on a wall. Easy enough to install this yourself, well designed and looks great curved. Unfortunately, the screen paint was far easier to install, and produced better results. Even my long ago 4:3 screen (from another vendor we will leave nameless) had a much better surface, Issues 1) Their mounting bracket offset strap were manufactured wrong (off by 15mm) leading me to have to re-mount the bottom bracket after thinking all was well...I now have three extra holes in my wall which had previously been perfectly straight/skimcoated. I guess the guide and offset table to confirm distance meant they are too daft to do it themselves when assembling the product? 2) The bottom bracket sticks out and reflects light below the screen. Hardly ideal design but not really visible in totally dark room (see below) from distance after painted over. 3) The surface is perfectly tensioned, and seems decent quality, but picks up any ambient light as it has a fine pattern. Blacks are very washed out except in the darkest room setting. I hear they have a textureless screen that is supposedly way better, but that would be extra $$$ and effort. If this weren't so large and a pain to return I would return it.
